In Pokémon GO this Saturday, November 2nd, the live event “A Colossal Discovery” is taking place. We will tell you how to make the most of the event.

What kind of live event is this? Those who paid €8.99 will gain access to this event. There you can receive numerous bonuses from 11 AM to 7 PM.

The highlight will be the early access to the legendary Pokémon Regigigas. You will receive it on the event day from a special research.

What you need to know about the times: You can only pick up the special research within the 8 hours. However, you can solve it afterwards. So you don’t have to play the full 8 hours to be successful.

How to best take advantage of the event

These preparations should be made: Before the event starts, you should gather a good team to set out with. Unlike the Community Day, not all players will be present, so you should know in advance who will actually participate.

Equally important is that you start the special research simultaneously with your fellow players. If one of them lags behind, you will have to complete some special raids or other things again for that player.

We recommend a group size of 5-6 players. This way you can easily handle the Regi raids while not having too many players to keep track of.

Things to consider: You have a total of 10 free Raid Passes available during the event. You should also use them within the 8 hours, as the passes will disappear after the event ends.

How to best use the passes: Part of the special research will certainly be that you need to do some raids for the Regi trio. So don’t throw away all your passes beforehand, but use them especially in line with the special research.

In general, the raids for the Regi trio are worth it, as they can all be shiny.

What else should be noted for the event? Otherwise, there is not much to note. The special research should be the focus, as you should complete it at least after the weekend.

Certainly, the quests will not be so extensive that they cannot be completed during the event. So you can approach it all casually.

Special research on Regigigas – What is known

Are quests already known? Currently, there are no leaks revealing the tasks surrounding the special research. If there are new updates, we will of course add them here.

What can one expect? Part of the special research will certainly be the fight against the Regi trio. Just like in the console games, you had to possess all 3 Regis before you encountered Regigigas.

So expect quests like “Catch 1 Regirock, Regice, and Registeel”.

Counters against Regirock, Regice, and Registeel

Different counters must be used against each of the 3 Regis. Here we briefly introduce the best counters:

• Best counters against Regirock: Metagross, Starmie, Dialga, Machamp
• Best counters against Regice: Gengar, Metagross, Moltres, Blaziken
• Best counters against Registeel: Gengar, Moltres, Blaziken, Machamp

How many people are needed for this? Registeel can already be beaten well with three players. For the other two Regis, 4 players are needed if you are battling without a weather bonus.

To ensure the battle goes smoothly, we recommend a group size of 5-6 players.

Regigigas in Pokémon GO – How strong will it be?

These are the stats: First, let’s take a look at the exact stats to estimate how strong it will be:

• Attack stat: 287
• Defense stat: 210
• HP stat: 220
• Max CP: 4337

What does this mean for Regigigas? The stats of the Pokémon are excellent. Unfortunately, it is of Normal type and does not learn the best moves. This limits Regigigas quite a bit.
