In Pokémon GO, many trainers are currently battling in the new special research “Champion of Nostalgia Challenge”. You need to catch Dragon-type Pokémon, which is not easy.
This is the special research: Since the beginning of June, there has been the special research “Champion of Nostalgia Challenge”. You could obtain this if you solved all the researches related to the Nostalgia Challenge or spent money for it. At the end, the mysterious Pokémon Genesect is waiting for you, among other things.
On level 4 of 5, you need to catch a Dragon-type Pokémon. This is quite tricky, as Dragon-type Pokémon are among the rarest Pokémon in the game.
Catching Dragon-type Pokémon for Nostalgia Challenge
Wild: In the wild, Dragon-type Pokémon appear particularly rarely. Possible candidates for this would be Dratini or Bagon. For monsters like Swablu or Trapinch, you need to have significantly more luck.
Raids: The best opportunity for Dragon-type Pokémon is currently in raids. There you can still find Reshiram for a short time and after that Zekrom. Both are legendary Pokémon of the Dragon type. However, remember that you need multiple players for this.
Those who play alone can rely on Pokémon like Alolan Exeggutor or Bagon in raids. They are of the Dragon type and can currently be found at the raid bosses to Reshiram.
The raid bosses for Zekrom are not yet known, but Dragon-type Pokémon are also conceivable there. Through such raids, you can quickly complete the task.
PvP: If you play a lot in PvP mode, you can also encounter a Dragon-type Pokémon there. From rank 7, you can meet a Bagon. This is of the Dragon type and completes the quest for you.
However, there are no other Dragon-type Pokémon here, and you need some luck to actually obtain Bagon.
Are there any other tricky tasks? For the special research, the task involving Dragon-type Pokémon is the most difficult. Other tasks are somewhat lengthy, such as winning in 15 raids, but they can be managed over time.
You can also take advantage of the raid hours in the coming weeks. They revolve around Reshiram or Zekrom – both Dragon-type Pokémon.
