A trainer just wanted to catch an Eevee in Pokémon GO. But suddenly a bug caused a Snorlax to appear in the worst possible location.
This is what happened: In the Pokémon GO subreddit, a trainer shared a video where he wanted to collect a reward that was tied to an Eevee encounter. Normally, you would just have to open it and try to catch the Eevee with Poké Balls.
But the trainer faced an unexpected obstacle. You can see how it looked in this video by user eten123 (via reddit):
Snorlax blocks the catching attempt
This is the error: The video shows how a Snorlax simply appears directly on the Eevee – curiously facing the trainer with its back. Although the combination of Eevee and Snorlax fits well with the recently concluded Kanto Tour, the trainer likely wasn’t too pleased about the double pack.
Because: Every attempt to catch the Eevee fails. The big, lazy Snorlax simply absorbs every Poké Ball with its broad backside. Incidentally, the many attempts do not lead to catching the Snorlax: The balls simply bounce off and sadly roll back toward the trainer.
This is how the community reacts: Even the user who is so unfortunately failing at the Snorlax takes the situation with humor. “Do I need a Poké Flute to catch this Eevee?” is asked in the post – a reference to the old games.
Because back then, a Snorlax would often be in the way, blocking the progress of budding Pokémon trainers. Then you needed a Poké Flute to wake the monster and kindly ask it to move aside (that is: to battle it and catch it).
Some other players comment that they last saw such bugs in the beta of the game. Another user writes: “Are they developing Eevee into a Ghost-type? By crushing it with a Snorlax?” (via reddit).
Another user suggests turning the bug directly into a feature (via reddit): “Give us a Poké Flute and every now and then a Snorlax appears. Then you have to play the flute in a mini-game. Nothing good or bad happens, but it would be a fun little surprise.”
Next up in Pokémon GO the legendary season is coming. New legendary Pokémon will also appear there. Let’s just hope that suddenly a Snorlax doesn’t block the way when trying to catch them.
