Due to the Corona crisis, there are currently special circumstances in Pokémon GO. However, the various changes are not expected to last much longer.
This is the current situation in Pokémon GO: Since people are advised not to go outside due to the Corona virus, there are various adjustments in Pokémon GO, allowing players to enjoy the game comfortably from home.
How long will the adjustments last? Until now, it was unclear how long these changes would remain in effect. However, Niantic now provides an answer: You can benefit from the bonuses until May 1st.
Corona changes will not last more than a month
These changes are affected: Niantic stated on Twitter that the changes to the PvP League are included. This means battling without using coins or kilometers.
However, looking at the news within the app, one can see that other bonuses are also affected. These include:
- Incense attracts more Pokémon and lasts for one hour
- You can open 30 gifts instead of 20
- You can carry 20 gifts in your bag
What does this mean for players? If these changes disappear, playing from home will become significantly more difficult, and players will need to go outside more frequently to catch Pokémon.
Currently, you can still effectively play from home with these tips:
Niantic still reserves the right: The developers have announced on Twitter that they will reassess the situation shortly before May 1st and decide then whether the measures will indeed end on May 1st.
So it is quite possible that the adjustments will remain in place for a while longer. After all, Niantic must also consider the situation worldwide. Especially in the USA, it does not currently seem that the situation will improve noticeably by May 1st.
At the moment, Niantic is still doing a lot to allow trainers to play from home. Recently, the Battle Day with Marill was announced, which can be enjoyed from home.
