The Community Day takes place because you voted for the Pokémon in the poll in August.
All Information about the Community Day with Porygon
How good are the bonuses? This time there is triple catch XP, which is nice, but you can gain experience points faster through other means.
So if you want to reach level 40 or continue collecting XP, you should definitely take advantage of the event. In the end, however, you will not get as many XP as you would through friendships.
All in all, the XP bonus is not that strong. You won’t miss out on great bonuses if you don’t play for the full 6 hours.
Is Porygon worth it? The Pokémon should be exciting for all trainers, as it is not yet available as Shiny. You will all encounter a new Shiny. This event is therefore quite important for Shiny hunters.
Things will be different in October – as Charmander will be in the spotlight of the event and this Shiny already exists.
In battle, Porygon is not so interesting. It is a Normal-type Pokémon and therefore not effective against any type. The final evolution Porygon-Z is generally strong, but in comparison, it always performs worse than Pokémon of other types that can hit the opponent effectively.
What is known about the move? The move Triple Attack is completely new in Pokémon GO. Therefore, no information about the usability of the move can be provided yet.
It is a Normal-type move, so it will likely not be particularly useful in raids and gym battles. However, it could become a solid attack for the PvP mode. This remains to be seen.
How important will the Community Day be? For Shiny hunters, Porygon is quite interesting. However, if you have already collected some Shinys, you won’t miss anything from the event. The bonus is decent but not overwhelming, and the move will likely only appeal to PvP fans.
Perhaps there’s something interesting for you in the other events in September. A lot will be about Mega Evolutions in Pokémon GO.
