Most of you know Squirtle with sunglasses from the Pokémon series. A trainer is celebrated for the idea of how the iconic Squirtle Squad could come to Pokémon GO. Similar to Team GO Rocket.
What is it about? On reddit, a player of Pokémon GO shared his version of how the Squirtle Squad should be integrated into the game. As a refreshing alternative to the Rocket thugs from Team GO Rocket, whom trainers have been battling for months.
On reddit, the idea is well received, with the thread achieving over 3,300 upvotes already.
“… when you win, you get stolen items …”
This is the idea: Trainer rjbelz explains how the Squirtle Squad should appear in the game (via reddit.com). Trainers should randomly encounter the squad in the wild. But not at PokéStops and not at gyms.
“There should be a WP limitation when selecting attackers against the squad,” rjbelz explains. “They [the Squirtle Squad] should have slightly increased battle points like raid bosses to make the fights tighter.”
If one is successful in the fight against the squad, rjbelz has an exciting idea for the rewards. “When you win, you get ‘stolen’ items from other players. Stones, Poké Balls, special candies, avatar items, etc. Of course, experience points and medal achievements as well.” If one loses, they must prove their skill again next time.
For rjbelz, this would be an exciting alternative to spinning stops and battling Rocket thugs or bosses like Arlo, Sierra and Cliff. “It could also run like an event, similar to Jessie and James. To keep it from getting too much,” the idea giver adds.
He wants to avoid that these fights against the Squirtles become monotonous after a short time.

In the anime, the Squirtles are initially rebellious, stealing from the villagers and spray-painting graffiti on walls. They then get tricked by Team Rocket and ultimately become a good crew that helps the town and its residents.
Ash’s Squirtle is an integral part of the squad and is only occasionally brought back into battle by Ash. For many viewers, the group of turtle Pokémon remains a positive memory.
