The legendary Pokémon Cresselia doesn’t exactly shine with good stats. With a trick, it becomes a monster in the PvP mode of Pokémon GO.
When the legendary raid boss Cresselia sat on the arenas, hardly any player was excited. Cresselia has poor stats, low CP, and its attacks are not optimal for raids. The Pokémon seemed to be bad for many so far.
More and more players are reporting that Cresselia shows its true talent in the Super League of trainer battles. With a simple trick, the legendary Pokémon becomes a strong attacker in trainer fights.
This is how Cresselia becomes a PvP monster
If you still have Cresselia from raids in your collection, you shouldn’t simply get rid of it. In the Super League, which is capped at a maximum of 1500 CP, Cresselia can be a true weapon.
This is the trick: If you look at the CP of Cresselia from raids, you will find that it has at least 1555 CP. This is too high for the Super League.
In order for Cresselia to start in the league, you need to “bad trade” it. If the Cresselia gets worse IVs from the trade, its CP will also decrease. Thus, it can happen that Cresselia has less than 1500 CP after the trade.
This is why Cresselia is so powerful: Cresselia’s HP and defense stats are extremely high. Only its attack stat is low, which is why its CP is also low. The attack stat largely determines the CP.
However, Cresselia is perfectly suited for PvP with these stats. It is much more about the duration that a Pokémon can survive here. The damage it can deal per second is more decisive in raids.
This is how the attacks become good: For an arena battle, Cresselia’s attacks are not good, but for PvP, the mix of attacks is interesting:
- Fast attacks: Confusion, Psycho Cut
- Charge attacks: Moonblast, Future Sight, Aurora Beam
Cresselia has a fast instant attack with Psycho Cut, which is important in PvP. The charge attacks offer three different types, and it would be worth it to unlock the second charge attack.
This is how Cresselia leads you to victory: To counter Cresselia, it’s best to use Dark-type Pokémon. However, these are very effectively hit by Cresselia’s Moonblast attack. The Ice attack Aurora Beam is also good. It charges quickly and can draw out the opponent’s shields.
Additionally, the legendary Pokémon can withstand a lot of damage. Your opponent will have a hard time with Cresselia. And you have a good chance of victory.
