What kind of PokéStop is it? A Pokémon GO trainer on Reddit reports that he has returned to his home in rural Ireland after a long absence. During this visit, a friend pointed him to a very special PokéStop.
The PokéStop is a memorial stone. And it is no less than the one of his father. The memorial is a throne made of stone, as his deceased father taught the people in the community the art of stonemasonry.
How does a PokéStop actually come to be in Pokémon GO? PokéStops in Pokémon GO are created through submissions by trainers. Players who are at least level 38 can submit any PokéStop, which is then reviewed by other trainers in Pokémon GO. Depending on this review, a new PokéStop may or may not be created.
“Definitely proud, that’s so cool.“
What does the trainer say about it? The trainer is proud of this monument to his father that will now always accompany him in Pokémon GO. In response to another trainer’s inquiry if he is proud of it or finds it disrespectful, he replies: Definitely proud, that’s so cool.
In another comment regarding whether such a monument is common in Ireland compared to a gravestone, the trainer also notes: It is not his actual grave but a monument in his memory erected by people who loved him because he taught them the stonemasonry craft.
So the trainer now also has a beautiful memory of his deceased father in Pokémon GO, of which he is proud.
