Later this year, you will be able to connect Pokémon GO with Pokémon HOME. We will show you what benefits this brings.
What’s new: The developers of Pokémon GO, Niantic, provided an important update about a feature today, on September 29.
Pokémon HOME was first announced in February. However, it has been quite quiet on the topic since the announcement. Now it is known that it will collaborate with Pokémon GO later this year.
What is Pokémon HOME? The service allows you to manage your monsters from all current Pokémon games in a cloud. You can:
- trade globally with other players
- store them there
- or transfer them from one game to another.
What changes for you in Pokémon GO due to Pokémon HOME
What does this bring? Once the integration is available, there will be limited-time events in Pokémon GO focused on specific Pokémon. You will be able to activate a Mystery Box after you have sent a Pokémon from GO to Pokémon HOME. If you open the box during the Celebration event, you can encounter Shiny Meltan.

The chance to catch the Shiny Meltan was previously available in the game but only for a limited time. Currently, you cannot catch a Shiny Meltan. With the new event, Shiny hunters will finally get the chance again.
When the Celebration event will take place is still unclear. Niantic will provide more details later.
More new Shinys? With the launch of Pokémon HOME more Shiny forms of Formeo appeared. So far, you could only catch the Shiny of the normal form of Formeo in Pokémon GO. However, not the sun, snow, and rain forms.
The three new Shiny forms are basically the figurehead of the HOME service. It is possible that they will find their way to Pokémon GO through the new integration later this year. This also aligns with the data mining findings. Because recently, the 3 new Shiny forms of Formeo have appeared in the game data of Pokémon GO.
An exact date for when the integration of Pokémon HOME and GO will take place is not yet known. Official sources state that it should happen “later this year.” We are already excited to see what the Celebration event for this feature will look like.
