In Pokémon GO the big Home Event has started. It brings new quests, raid bosses, and shinies to the game. We provide you with an overview of all the new features.
How long does the Home Event last? It started this morning, on November 17, and runs until November 23 at 10:00 PM.
The event celebrates the integration of Pokémon GO into the cloud system Pokémon Home. For this, Shiny Meltan is returning to the game and additional bonuses round out the event.
Field Research, Shinies, and Spawns for the Home Event
These quests are new: There are a total of 4 new field researches for the event. We show you the rewards for them:
- Catch 2 different species of Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a male or female Nidoran (both can be Shiny)
- Give your buddy 3 snacks
- Reward: Encounter with a Shiny Slowpoke
- Win 2 raids
- Reward: Encounter with a Shiny Dratini
- Catch 30 Pokémon
- Reward: 1500 Stardust
The task regarding the two forms of Nidoran is worthwhile. It can be completed quickly and rewards you with a potential Shiny. The quest for Slowpoke should also be collected, as it gives you the chance to get the brand new Shiny Slowpoke. Here you can ideally collect 3 quests at once and then complete them all at once by feeding.
These spawns are available for the event: Alolan Sandshrew appears in the wild. This Pokémon is not otherwise catchable in the wild and can also appear as Shiny. If you don’t have a Shiny yet, you should take the chance.
Additionally, there are numerous exciting spawns including Alolan Diglett, Lileep, Anorith, Magnemite, Slowpoke, and Zubat. They can all be Shiny and appear rarely outside of events.
What new Shinies are there? Slowpoke was introduced as the only new Shiny and is available now. However, it is only slightly lighter than the normal Slowpoke. Only upon evolving into Lickilicky does the difference become noticeable:
In addition to Slowpoke, you can now also catch Shiny Meltan again. The Shiny form has been missing for over a year and is now available again during the event period.
This is how you get Shiny Meltan: The Shiny is only available from the Mystery Box you receive when you trade a Pokémon between Pokémon GO and Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee. Alternatively, you can also obtain the Mystery Box by transferring a Pokémon to Pokémon Home.
You can find a detailed guide to the Mystery Box here:
