Surprise for the Pokémon GO players: The legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh is returning. And there is a chance for special specimens.
Limited visit: For a few days, trainers can once again battle and catch Ho-Oh in Pokémon GO. The visit is intended to enhance the Johto Week for the players. However, the visit is only for a short time. So you should be quick if you’re still missing a Ho-Oh in your collection.
Ho-Oh returns, also as Shiny
Surprising announcement: On Friday evening, the Pokémon GO team announced on social media that Ho-Oh can again be found in raid battles. This is meant to give trainers a chance to end the Johto Week with a surprise. In Germany, it should be found in raids starting Saturday, August 25.
Shiny form: Especially interesting for collectors is that Ho-Oh can also appear in its shiny form. How high the chance of a shiny encounter is currently unclear. We are waiting for reports from trainers. However, we hope that the chance is high and that many trainers can add such a special specimen to their collection.
How long will Ho-Oh stay? According to the announcement, the boss is set to stay in arenas until August 27, that is, Monday. Niantic has already confirmed that the Johto event is active until August 28 at 10:00 PM German time.
What does the community say?
The first reactions are positive about the return of Ho-Oh. Although this is already the third visit, there are still trainers who miss this monster in their collection. Niantic apparently wants to ensure that everyone can expand their PokéDex with this specimen.
Short time not well received: There is less joy about the short time window in which Ho-Oh appears. Players would have preferred more time and now feel pressured.
Desire for a new attack: Some players hope that the Ho-Oh will have an exclusive attack. However, there is currently no indication of this.
This legendary research reward will be available in September in Pokémon GO
