After Pokémon GO released the new trainer battles feature, you can also challenge the team leaders. But how does it work? We explain to you where to find the team leaders and how to challenge them.
What are team leaders? Candela, Spark, and Blanche are the team leaders of red, yellow, and blue teams. You can now challenge them to trainer battles. During the fight against the NPCs, you can train and try out new Pokémon combinations. Additionally, your “Assistant Trainer” medal will increase and you will receive a reward once a day.
This is how you challenge the team leaders in the Nearby List to trainer battles
To challenge the team leaders, go to your Nearby List. You can find it at the bottom right of the screen. There, the Pokémon nearby will be displayed.
When you have opened the Nearby List, you will see the columns “Fight”, “Pokémon”, and “Raid” above the nearby Pokémon. Click on “Fight” and the following screen will open:
Now you can choose one of the team leaders. Click on the picture of the respective team leader. After that, you can challenge him to a fight and train. After the battle is finished, you will receive a reward, regardless of whether you won or lost. This is either Stardust or the Sinnoh Stone.
How difficult are the team leaders? The team leaders have different levels of difficulty. Blanche (far left) is the easiest. Candela (in the middle) is of medium strength, and Spark (far right) is the hardest. If you use the right counters, you should be able to defeat any team leader. None of the team leaders is hard to defeat.
