Pokémon GO has announced the Raid Week and the Lapras Day. You should definitely not miss this event. We’ll tell you why.
This event is about: The Raid Day with Lapras is probably the highlight of the upcoming event. For 3 hours, a Lapras raid will spawn in all gyms – except where EX raids take place during the week.
You will receive 5 free raid passes and can participate in as many Lapras raids as you can within the 3 hours.
That’s why the Lapras Day will be a highlight
What makes Lapras so special? The special thing about Lapras is its shiny form, which is extremely rare. Since the release of the shiny during the Safari Zone in Singapore, many players have tried to chase every Lapras quest.
After this quest was no longer available, Lapras could only be caught in the wild, and it is hardly ever found there. The chance of encountering a shiny is therefore very low.
What can you do on the raid day: On Lapras Day, you will have a very good chance of getting a shiny. If you’re quick, you can complete up to 30 raids.
These are therefore 30 chances for shiny Lapras. The chance for the rare shiny form has never been this high in Germany!
What is the chance of getting a shiny? The shiny rate for Lapras at the event is not yet known. It is suspected that it will be similar to the Gengar Day. There, the probability was about 1 in 20.
What do the players say? The majority of players are happy about this event. “Blueheron77” writes on Reddit: “Shiny Bronzel AND Lapras??? Please let me have shiny luck!”
“I think this is a good way to bring shiny Lapras to players who couldn’t attend the Safari Zone. I’m looking forward to the event,” says “mondelsson”.
But there is also a problem with shiny Lapras: However, there are also some complaints about the event. Players who have already received a shiny from the quest or the wild are now upset. For them, their shiny is devalued, because with this event, shiny Lapras will no longer be as rare as it once was.
When does the Lapras Day start? Next Saturday, on May 25, it will take place. The event will run from 11 AM to 2 PM local time.
This Sunday is the Community Day:
