Pokémon GO celebrates Niantic’s birthday today and you can now earn items worth 4 euros in a special research. We will show you all the steps of the research.
What is being celebrated? Niantic is having a birthday and therefore Pokémon GO is giving gifts to the community. In addition to numerous bonuses that are active for 6 hours today, there is also a special research.
In the special research, there are some useful items worth over 4 euros – but you don’t have to spend a cent.
However, the birthday event lasts for only 6 hours, until 5:00 PM. It is not yet known whether this also applies to the special research.

This is the special research: The special research is divided into 4 steps. The tasks are quite manageable so you can quickly earn the items.

Niantic’s Birthday Event 1/4

Reward for completing the stage: If you complete all three quests, you will receive 1x Star Piece, 2000 Stardust, and 2000 XP.
What are the items worth? If you buy a Lucky Egg, Star Piece, Egg Incubator and Incense individually in the shop, you would pay 370 coins. That makes almost 4 euros. Additionally, there are the TMs and other items.
It’s worth it: If you plan to play today anyway, you should best invest a Star Piece as well. The quest line can be completed in about half an hour and you can get 7250 Stardust for it. If you use a Star Piece, you will even get 10875 Stardust. It’s worth it.
If you catch some Pokémon along the way, you should make the most of your Star Piece.
