In Pokémon GO the event “a very slow discovery” is taking place. We will show you how to get Shelder and its evolutions.
What should you do? As with previous events, you can earn a top collector medal for Pokémon GO during “a very slow discovery” as well. To do this, you need to catch or evolve the required Pokémon by June 13, 2021, at 8:00 PM.
You can find the corresponding challenge with an overview of which Pokémon are involved in the Today section of the game. We have looked closely at these and will give you a few tips on how to solve the tasks quickly.
Catch Shelder
First, you should catch a regular Shelder to complete the event challenge. This Pokémon is currently spawning more frequently due to the ongoing event, making it easy to find in the wild.
Alternatively, you can also obtain this Pokémon by completing the current field research tasks “Catch 8 Water-type Pokémon,” “Catch 8 Psychic-type Pokémon,” or “Evolve a Psychic-type Pokémon.”
Evolve to obtain Cloyster
Next on the challenge list in the Today section of Pokémon GO is Cloyster. In the bottom left corner of the image, there is also a red symbol shown. This indicates that you need to evolve a Shelder into a Cloyster.
To evolve it, you need 50 Shelder candies. Catching a Cloyster, for example, after a raid, or evolving a Cloyster to Mega Cloyster does not complete this task. You must evolve Shelder. This is also confirmed by the user Timo in the comments on MeinMMO.
Developing to Walrein with a Deep Stone
In addition to Cloyster, Shelder has another evolution: Walrein. This is also visible in the collector challenge in Pokémon GO. Just like with Cloyster, the image is again marked with a red symbol, indicating that this Pokémon must be evolved to solve the task.
For this evolution, you also need 50 Shelder candies. Additionally, you need a Deep Stone for this. You can obtain this once through the free event box in the shop. Alternatively, you also receive it as a reward for completing the field research task “Evolve a Pokémon.”
Obtain Galarian Shelder
The last Pokémon required for the collector challenge is Galarian Shelder. This was introduced for the first time in Pokémon GO during the current event. Unlike Cloyster and Walrein, this Pokémon must be caught.
Here you can find Galarian Shelder: Unlike regular Shelder, Galarian Shelder cannot currently be caught in the wild in Pokémon GO. To solve your challenge, you can currently battle Galarian Shelder in a 1-Star raid and then catch it.
Another option is to complete the event-related field research tasks “Evolve 3 Shelder” or “Win a raid in under 60 seconds.” For both tasks, you will receive a Galarian Shelder as a reward.
Do you have any additional tips on how to solve the event tasks quickly? Then feel free to share them with us in the comments.
Starting June 9, Niantic will also adjust the requirements for level 42 in Pokémon GO. We have looked into these changes for you and summarized them.
