Over 2700 people participated in our survey for the Community Day in June and July at Pokémon GO. Squirtle, Caterpie, Sandshrew, and Gastly were the candidates. Who won?
What’s it about? Community Days take place every month in Pokémon GO. Usually, the developers at Niantic specify which Pokémon will be the focus during the event. However, in June and July, the two Pokémon in focus are those that trainers can vote for. This happens via Twitter, and everyone has one vote.
We asked: We at MeinMMO inquired before the official Pokémon GO survey how the mood is among trainers. In our survey, we asked you if you wanted to vote for Squirtle, Caterpie, Sandshrew, or Gastly.
Over 2700 people voted, showing two clear favorites that you want to see during the events.
The winners of the survey – which Pokémon do you want the most?
This is how you decided: The survey clearly shows that two candidates have many fans. Caterpie and Gastly are very close together.
On May 20th at 11:00 AM, the survey was evaluated with 2781 votes. These votes are distributed as follows:
- Caterpie with 821 votes – that’s about 30%
- Gastly with 792 votes – that’s about 29%
- Squirtle with 623 votes – that’s about 22%
- Sandshrew with 545 votes – that’s about 19%
In the first hours after the start of the survey, it became very clear how tight the race was between Caterpie and Gastly. At times, it was fewer than 10 votes that separated these two Pokémon.
What does it look like officially? Niantic also conducted a small preliminary vote on Twitter before the official survey started. They asked: If you had to vote for Community Day today, which Pokémon would get your vote?
A proud 259,116 people voted on Twitter, choosing Gastly as their favorite. Caterpie comes in second place, followed by Squirtle and in last place Sandshrew.
In addition to these well-known Pokémon, you can expect some entirely new species in Pokémon GO soon. Niantic announced that a Dragon Trio will be introduced in the game. They are of the types Fire, Ice, and Electric. It looks like the 3 new Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO will be really strong.
