In Pokémon GO there are 3 new Lure Modules! These Glacier, Moss, and Magnet Lure Modules attract special Pokémon. We show you how they work.
Update: We have written a new article on the topic for you: All Lure Modules in Pokémon GO Explained – With Spawns and Evolutions.
Continuing with the old message
What are these modules? With a new wave of Pokémon, the 3 new Lure Modules came into play, which dataminer Chrales had found earlier.
These modules attract Pokémon of specific types and bring significantly more Pokémon to you.
Additionally, the Lure Modules assist in the evolution of some Pokémon. They also serve as a type of evolution item.
What the new Lure Modules can do
Which Pokémon are attracted? Each module attracts different Pokémon types. We have a list for you:
- Glacier Lure Module: Ice and Water type Pokémon
- Moss Lure Module: Bug, Poison, and Grass type Pokémon
- Magnet Lure Module: Rock, Electric, and Steel type Pokémon
How do I get the modules? You can obtain these Lure Modules for 200 coins in the in-game shop. This is roughly about 2 euros.
What we know about the spawns: These special Lure Modules bring you significantly more Pokémon than regular Lure Modules. You get a Pokémon from the modules every 90 seconds. In comparison, the regular modules only attract a Pokémon every 3 minutes.
It’s worth using the new modules, as you will get significantly more Pokémon from them. Activate several modules next to each other, and you can catch almost uninterruptedly.
What about the modules on Community Day? During Community Days, Lure Modules actually last for 3 hours, and not just the usual 30 minutes.
It remains to be seen whether the new modules will also last for 3 hours. This would mean that you could attract significantly more Pokémon during Community Day.
However, a confirmation from Niantic is still missing. You will have to try it on Sunday during the Community Day with Flemmli.
Using Lure Modules for Evolution
This is how the evolution at the module works: The three Lure Modules also bring 4 new evolutions with them. You can develop the following Pokémon:
- Glacier Lure Module: Evoli to Glaziola
- Moss Lure Module: Evoli to Folipurba
- Magnet Lure Module: Magneton to Magnezone, Nasgnet to Voluminas
To evolve the 4 Pokémon, you need to stand directly next to the module. Then you can perform the evolution.
The two Evoli Evolutions can also be evolved using a name trick:
