Selected players in Pokémon GO can now test the new daily free boxes. One player shows on reddit what new items are included. Others comment on the items as “really wild”.
What is new? The developers at Niantic announced that they want to revise the daily free boxes offered to trainers in the shop. However, the new boxes can initially only be tested by selected players.
The strength of the new content was recently revealed through a screenshot shared by a player on reddit. Special candies and incubators are even included.
What’s inside the new boxes?
This is what the trainer shows: User CobaltPanda titles his post on reddit “My daily box today was insane. Must be an update?” It sounds like he doesn’t even know that Niantic intended to revise the boxes. The lucky tester unexpectedly received the new package in the shop.
In the box, you will find:
- 3 special candies
- 2 incubators
- 2 king stones
- 7 nanab berries
A significant difference compared to the less exciting contents that trainers usually receive from daily free boxes.
In Pokémon GO, you have been receiving a free box in the shop every day for several months. Every trainer can pick up one of these boxes each day. They usually contain items like Poké Balls or Ultra Balls or smaller potions.
How trainers are reacting: In the comments on reddit, the new contents of the box are very well received. The comment with the most upvotes reads “2 incubators is really wild”. Of course, because incubators are sought after in Pokémon GO. Trainers have only one free and infinite incubator in their inventory. The others have limited charges and wear out over time. Afterwards, new ones must be bought in the shop or obtained through events.
Others inform the trainer that he was lucky and is in the test group for the new content at Niantic. The developers wrote that starting March 12th, the variety of items in the daily free boxes will change. However, only a “randomly selected small number of users” is allowed to test this initially.
Trainers write that they doubt that the boxes will really be unlocked with such good items as incubators and special candies “for everyone”. User AlexanderXIII writes: “Even though the chance is low that such boxes will be available for everyone, I still hope that they are better than one or two Poké Balls and junk potions.”
You must consider: The tests for the new items in the free boxes are still ongoing. This does not mean that soon every trainer will be pulling special candies and incubators from the packages. It is quite possible that Niantic will backtrack on this and remove these items from the free boxes again. This is now an insight into the testing phase.
