In Pokémon GO, it will soon get spooky. Dataminers found new texts in the game that suggest the content for the Halloween event. There are now first insights into a continuation of the research as well as Paragoni and Trombork as new Pokémon.
What is it about? Every year, Pokémon GO celebrates a Halloween event and focuses on spooky and ghost-type Pokémon. There are bonuses, new Pokémon, and perhaps new Shinys as well. A first unofficial look is available now thanks to dataminers.
They found the texts of the research with Willow, in which Paragoni and Trombork are mentioned. We show you here what Willow has to say about the Pokémon.
Paragoni and Trombork Release in October?
This was found: The dataminers from PokeMiners regularly search the app’s code for changes. From this, it can be inferred what new content is planned for Pokémon GO. In the past, these finds (leaks) have proven to be correct, which is why these dataminers can be trusted.
The latest changes show text updates. Among those are passages in which Willow speaks to the trainers during research. The professor explains in a continuation of the special research with Hoopa that a few “spooky” Pokémon will appear nearby. He hopes that the trainers won’t be too scared and will investigate the ghost-type Pokémon with him.
Then suddenly, he talks about what he saw in a forest:
Oh, I just remembered that I recently researched near a forest and stumbled upon a strangely looking tree. I’ve learned my lesson about strange trees that sometimes they are not trees at all – like Mogelbaum!
I stepped closer to examine the tree, but then it turned around, and its single red eye stared directly into mine!
I quickly realized that it was a Trombork, the Elder Tree Pokémon, checking whether I was friend or foe! After all, it lures people who harm the forest into a trap so they can’t leave.
It must have sensed that I was only there for research purposes, because it turned back around and ignored me. Its attention then returned to the many smaller Paragoni surrounding its feet.

So it sounds very likely that these two Pokémon will be part of the Halloween event 2021. But who are they actually? In case the leak is correct, we will now introduce the two Pokémon to you. But keep in mind that this is not official information from Niantic, and the release of Paragoni and Trombork is not 100% certain.
Paragoni and Trombork in Brief
Paragoni: The ghost and grass-type Pokémon originates from the 6th generation of games. Visually, it resembles a ghost with a tree stump for a head, sporting two branches. Two large holes in the stump seem to show two big red eyes. A smaller hole presumably represents the mouth.
Its abilities in the Pokémon games include Growth, Confusion Ray, Will-O-Wisp, Curse, Wood Hammer, Phantom Force, and Wood Horn.
The Pokédex states that Paragoni is born from the souls of deceased children who become lost in the forests.
Trombork: The evolution of Paragoni, Trombork, also belongs to the ghost and grass types and comes from the 6th generation of games. Visually, it resembles a fully grown tree made up of several individual parts. Here and there, the dark ghost appearance still shimmers through. Instead of two eyes, it has only one large, glowing red eye.
It can perform attacks such as Wood Hammer, Wood Horn, Dark Claw, Confusion Ray, Will-O-Wisp, Rooter, and Forest Curse in the Pokémon games. The Pokédex states that the trees of the forest blindly follow Trombork. Anyone who harms the forest is said to remain trapped there for the rest of their lives.
