In Pokémon GO there have been increasing reports about the new Pokémon Schalellos during the night. However, after a few minutes, the Schalellos-euphoria came to an end as the Pokémon disappeared again.
This is what players reported: One hour, after the release of the legendary lake trio, Schalellos also entered the game. While the lake trio can still be caught, Schalellos is no longer available now.
It took only a few minutes for Niantic to apparently notice the mistake and stop the spawn. However, there has been no official statement from the developers regarding this.
Schalellos in the Wild – What We Know
What we know about the spawns: In those few minutes, players caught both forms of Schalellos – in every region. It was assumed that Schalellos would become a regional Pokémon since it appears in two different forms.

Both forms were caught at the same locations. At least at that time there was no regional Schalellos.
Will the Pokémon return? So far, nothing is known about that. However, it is evident that Niantic has this Pokémon ready for release. They just need to pull a lever and the Pokémon will spawn. That lever was apparently mistakenly pulled during the night.
However, since some players now own this Pokémon, it can only be a matter of time before the Pokémon is officially released.
If Schalellos is released properly, it could actually be distributed across two regions. Since it was merely a false release so far, Niantic can change quite a bit about it.
This is what makes Schalellos special now: If you have caught a Schalellos, you currently possess one of the rarest Pokémon in the game. After all, Schalellos was only available for a few minutes in Pokémon GO, and only a handful of players own such a Pokémon.
Currently, the Ground Event is also still running. Here are the bonuses:
