What kind of event is this? In Pokémon GO, a so-called Community Day is held every month, focusing on a specific Pokémon. It spawns everywhere in the wild during the event period, and the chances of encountering a Shiny are increased.
After the C-Day Classic with Dratini took place last weekend, you can now look forward to the Community Day in November with Teddiursa this Saturday. We have summarized all the content you can expect about the little teddy and how to use the day for yourself.
Community Day in November 2022 – Start, Bonuses & New Monster
When? Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 14:00 to 17:00 local time
Pokémon of the day: Teddiursa will be found almost everywhere in the wild
Exclusive Attack: Horsepower, if you evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna (up to 5 hours after the event)
Bonuses:
– Incense and Lures last for 3 hours
– Triple Stardust when catching Pokémon
– Double Candy when catching Pokémon
– Double chance of XL Candy when catching Pokémon (from Trainer level 31)
– 5 surprise encounters from snapshots
– Event stickers in PokéStops and gifts
Additional bonuses until 5 hours after the event (10:00 PM local time)
– Additional special trade (maximum 2 on this day)
– 50% less Stardust cost when trading
As you’ve come to expect from Community Days, the C-Day with Teddiursa will also run for 3 hours. However, you can make use of the exclusive attack and trading bonuses up to 5 hours after the event, until 10 PM local time.
Special Raid Battles: Following the actual Community Day, there will again be special level 4 raids. These will only be available on-site, as you surely know from the past, so you cannot participate via remote raids.
In the raid, you will encounter Teddiursa’s first evolution, Ursaring. Once you successfully complete the battle, Teddiursa will spawn within 300 meters of the arena for 30 minutes again. The Shiny chance will be the same as during the C-Day.
What to expect in the shop: In the in-game shop, you can find some content related to the Community Day with Teddiursa. Here’s what to expect:
- Event ticket for the special research “A Sweet Snack” about Teddiursa, for about 1 Euro
- Community Day box with 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Super Incubators, 5 Luck Eggs, and a Charged TM for 1,350 coins
- Event stickers for Teddiursa

Which monster is new? For the Community Day with Teddiursa, you can encounter its final evolution for the first time: Ursaluna. The monster from the 8th generation of games, of the types Ground and Normal, can evolve using 100 candies.
During the event and up to 5 hours afterward, it will receive the event Charged Attack Horsepower, which can deal 100 damage in Trainer battles and 110 damage in raids and gym battles.
What to consider when evolving: Anyone who wants to secure the new evolution should do so by Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 06:00 local time at the latest. Ursaluna can only evolve during a full moon. If you miss this opportunity, you will have to wait until the next full moon.

How to make the most out of Community Day with Teddiursa
How to prepare: As with every major event in Pokémon GO, you should also create space in your Pokémon storage for the Community Day with Teddiursa. If you still have a lot of Dratini in your bag from the past weekend or if you generally need to clean out your Pokémon, it’s best to do that before the event starts.
The easiest way to do this is with the filter function in Pokémon GO. By entering “0*,1*,2*”, for example, you will only see monsters that have a rating of 2 stars or lower. The input “Age0” is also suitable for sorting during the event since it only shows Pokémon that are not older than 24 hours.
However, having space in your Pokémon storage alone is not enough to utilize the event optimally. You will also need plenty of items, which take up space too. So sort your item bag and make room for the most important items. We have summarized what you need below.
These items are needed for the C-Day with Teddiursa
Balls: The most important item for the Community Day with Teddiursa is, of course, Balls, because without them you cannot catch. So it’s best to keep a supply of about 200 balls so that you don’t have to restock during the event. Ultra Balls are the best choice since they keep stubborn monsters in better.

Alternatively, you can also look out for golden PokéStops right now. These give you more items when spun, including plenty of balls.
Incense & Lures: There will also be an extended duration for Incense and Lures during the Community Day. Therefore, it’s advisable to have at least one item of each in your bag. Activate them during the event, and you will attract even more monsters for 3 hours.
If you want to place more than one PokéStop with Lures, you will naturally need more.
Sananabeeren: To secure as many Teddiursa candies as possible, you should use Sananabeeren when catching. These will double the candies. Since you already receive a candy bonus during the event, you will gain 12 candies for each Teddiursa caught with a Sananabeere.
These are important for evolving it into Ursaluna and to level up your Pokémon.
Star Pieces: In addition to the candy bonus, you will also enjoy triple Stardust when catching during the event. If you want to enhance your supply even more, you can additionally use Star Pieces, which will increase the Stardust by 50% for 30 minutes.
Other important items: Following the Community Day, there will again be special level 4 raids, in which you can only participate on-site. If you want to do this, keep your Raid Pass or Premium Battle Pass ready.
To keep the best attackers in Pokémon GO ready for battle quickly after the raid, you will also need a few revives and potions.
What you need to keep in mind: When sorting your item bag, remember that you can relearn frustration for the “Rocket Takeover” event starting Monday. You will need your Charged TMs for this. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, it’s best not to sort this item out.

Use the right Mega Evolution
Why is a Mega Evolution needed? If you want to make the most out of the Community Day with Teddiursa, you should activate a corresponding Mega Evolution. If the type of the caught Pokémon corresponds to the type of your Mega Evolution, you will receive additional candies.
Which evolution do you need for Teddiursa? Since Teddiursa is a Normal type, you also need a Mega Evolution of this type. Therefore, the following Mega Pokémon are suitable:
- Mega-Tauboss
- Mega-Kangama
- Mega-Schlapor
Why is Mega-Schlapor particularly worthwhile? If you want to participate in the raids against Ursaring after the C-Day, you should evolve it into Mega-Schlapor. This monster belongs to the types Normal and Fighting.
This way, you can farm additional candies when catching Teddiursa and its evolutions, while also using it as an optimal counter against Ursaring in battles. Ursaring is particularly weak against Fighting attacks.
Since Mega-Schlapor is a Fighting Pokémon, you can also use it in the raid and it will simultaneously boost all other Fighting attacks. Thus, you can defeat Ursaring faster.
Is the Community Day with Teddiursa worth it?
Is there a Shiny Teddiursa? Yes. Teddiursa has been available in its Shiny form in Pokémon GO for some time. Since the Shiny rates during Community Days are usually slightly higher, your chances of encountering one are good. You can recognize it by its green body.
How strong is Teddiursa? The Normal Pokémon from the second generation does not impress with its stats. This is different for its first evolution, Ursaring, which has high attack and stamina values.
However, Ursaring cannot compete against the best attackers in Pokémon GO and therefore plays a minor role in raids. Also, in the GO Battle League, it is less interesting according to PvPoke.
With the Community Day, you will also get the opportunity to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna for the first time. The Ground and Normal type monster has enormous values in attack, stamina, and defense, which would make it an optimal candidate in raids and the GO Battle League. However, Ursaluna struggles due to a poor moveset.
If Ursaluna gets better attacks in the future, it might rank among the best Ground attackers. For now, this remains to be seen.

Who should make use of the C-Day? The Community Day with Teddiursa is primarily worthwhile because of the new Pokémon Ursaluna, which you can develop only until November 13, 2022, at 06:00 local time, and you should definitely secure it for your Pokédex.
