In Pokémon GO, the next Community Day is just around the corner. We will show you all the important information about it and how to make the most of it.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day is a regularly recurring event that takes place once a month in its regular form and once in the “Classic” variant. In each case, there is a specific Pokémon that is the focus of the event.
In addition to a very high spawn rate of the Pokémon, you can also look forward to a significantly increased Shiny chance during the event. Additionally, there are several bonuses that are active during a Community Day.
In July 2024, Zapplardin will be the star of the Community Days. This Pokémon from Generation 5 is of the Electric type. It can evolve into Zapplalek and then into Zapplarang.

When? Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Additional content during the Community Day: From 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, there will be 4* raids that you can participate in. Here, Zapplalek awaits you. If you successfully complete such a raid, more Zapplardin will appear around the gym for 30 minutes.
You cannot participate in these raids with remote raid passes, but only directly at the gym.
A free limited research will be available from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Here you can receive four Unova stones, which you need to evolve Zapplarang.

Who should take advantage of the Community Day with Zapplardin?
For collectors: If you are a Shiny hunter and are still missing Zapplardin and its evolutions, this event is the ideal opportunity to catch this Pokémon and its evolutions. With the significantly increased Shiny chance, it should not be a problem to obtain the Pokémon as a Shiny.
For battlers: Unfortunately, Zapplardin and its evolutions are not strong Pokémon. They are not suitable for use in the battle leagues, nor do they rank among the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO during raids.
The perfect preparation for the Community Day in July 2024
Create space: You should make enough space in your Pokémon box for the Community Day to be able to catch a high number of Zapplardin without major interruptions.
If your Pokémon box becomes full during the event and you need to create space, you can use a simple trick to quickly sort out Pokémon.
Prepare items: There are certain items that you definitely need to gather in your bag before the event if you want to make the most of it. These include:
- Enough balls: To catch many Pokémon, you need to collect enough balls in your item box. How to collect Pokéballs in Pokémon GO.
- Sananaberries: On Community Day, the amount of candy received when catching is already doubled. If you use Sananaberries, you can further increase the bonus and get a whopping twelve candies per catch. So you should collect a few Sananaberries in advance.
- Incense and lure module: If you want to increase the number of Zapplardin you encounter even further, you can use incense and lure modules. Activating them during the event will even extend the duration to a full three hours.
Which Mega Pokémon are worth it for the event? If you have activated a Mega evolution of the Electric type during the event, you can enjoy an extra candy and experience points when catching.
