In Pokémon GO, you can now find Groudon in raids for a few days. This raid boss oversees various arenas and belongs to Generation 3. In this guide, we show you which Pokémon can deal a lot of damage to the new raid boss.
Groudon Boss Stats
Groudon is a legendary raid boss of level 5. As a boss, it has 49671 WP (CP) and after catching it, a maximum of 2351 WP (CP) – calculation applies to level 20 with perfect IVs. With a weather bonus, it even reaches 2939 WP (CP).
Like the other legendary raid bosses, you cannot defeat Groudon alone. A group of at least 3 trainers with strong Pokémon is needed to take down the monster.
Groudon is a Ground type and therefore has no double weakness. However, Ground-type Pokémon deal 20% more damage in sunny weather.
With Electric-type Pokémon, you have poor chances in this battle. It’s best to use Pokémon with moves of Grass, Water, or Ice types to effectively deal damage to this raid boss.

Groudon Raid Counters
To counter Groudon in battle, there are many monsters available to you. As already explained, it is vulnerable to Grass, Water, or Ice attacks. Top attackers include Kyogre and Roserade. If Groudon has Solar Beam as an attack, then rely especially on Grass Pokémon or Gyarados.
