In Pokémon GO, the GO Fest has started in Chicago, along with the global challenges. This means trainers from around the world need to complete research tasks for Professor Willow. We show you what you need to know in Germany.
What is the GO Fest? The big GO Fest is taking place in Chicago (America). It is a trainer festival where players on-site and worldwide complete special challenges. Everyone works together to unlock special rewards and bonuses.
How long does the GO Fest last? From July 14th to 15th. The GO Fest takes place this weekend, and that is how long you have time to complete the Global Challenge.
What are the rewards? More XP, more candies, reduced egg distance, and more stardust. This requires completing the challenges. Additionally, you will encounter special Pokémon throughout the weekend.

Global Challenge for Europe: Here is the reward
The global challenge is active for us in Europe. Here is an overview of the tasks and rewards that all regions of the world must complete during the GO Fest:
- Europe, Middle East, and Africa: Complete 5,000,000 research tasks
Reward: More hatching XP - In Chicago at Pokémon GO Fest 2018: Complete 100,000 research tasks
Reward: More catch candies - America: Complete 5,000,000 research tasks
Reward: Reduced egg distance - Asia-Pacific: Complete 5,000,000 research tasks
Reward: More special candies from raids
Rewards for trainers worldwide: If a regional challenge is completed, trainers receive the corresponding reward worldwide.
When are the rewards active? From July 16th to 23rd, if the challenge has been completed.

- Asia-Pacific: Update July 14th, 4:30 PM: From July 16th – 23rd, trainers will receive 1 special candy when they win raid battles.
- Europe, Middle East, and Africa: Update July 14th, 11:30 PM: From July 16th – 23rd, trainers will receive more hatching XP.
- America: Update July 15th, 10:20 AM: From July 16th – 23rd, trainers will receive a reduced egg distance.
- GO Fest in Chicago: Update July 15th, 10:20 AM: From July 16th – 23rd, trainers will receive more catch candies.
- Zapdos Day unlocked: Zapdos will appear as a raid boss on July 21st and 22nd.
Lugia returns as a raid boss in the gyms for GO Fest
When is Lugia coming? On July 14th and 15th, Lugia will return to the gyms. The legendary bird will then be a level 5 boss. This means Regice will disappear during this time. You will also have the chance to catch a shiny Lugia.

Shiny Minun and Plusle are here for 2 days
Are shiny Minun and Plusle also in Germany? Yes. The two Pokémon appeared on July 14th at midnight and will remain in Europe for 48 hours. The two rare shiny forms also have a higher spawn rate. Catching the two will also bring increased stardust.

Alolan Forms: Diglett, Dugtrio, Geodude, Graveler, and Golem
Are these Alolan forms also in Germany? Yes. The special Pokémon appeared on July 14th at midnight and will remain in Europe for 48 hours. You have two days to catch them. It also seems that these Pokémon appear frequently.

Eevee comes for two days to Community Day on August 11-12
When is Eevee coming to Community Day? Eevee will appear on August 11th and 12th, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
What are the bonuses for Eevee?
- 3 x stardust for catching Pokémon
- 3-hour lures
- Exclusive move – yet to be revealed
The Community Day will last for two days. Presumably, Niantic decided this because Eevee has so many evolution forms.
