For the 3 GO Fests in summer, Pokémon GO requires something from trainers worldwide – Global Challenges. If you complete certain challenges, there will be 3 new Shinies and many bonuses waiting for you after the GO Fests.
What are the tasks? These global challenges apply to all players around the world and are meant to be completed in connection with the 3 GO Fest events.
Players at the GO Fests must also complete the tasks. If the challenges are completed, bonuses will be given. The 3 legendary feline Pokémon will also have their own raid days where you can catch them in their Shiny form.
Global Challenges – What You Need to Do
How to complete the tasks: There are a total of 3 different events related to the challenges. The events take place simultaneously with the GO Fests. You will need to complete the tasks there.
GO Fest in Chicago
When does the event run? This event starts on Thursday. By Sunday, June 16, you need to reach the following goals. Meanwhile, the GO Fest in Chicago is happening.
- Players at the GO Fest must complete 1 million field research tasks
- Reward: Double candies when catching Pokémon
- Players of Team Instinct (Yellow Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: 1 guaranteed special candy from raids
- Players of Team Valor (Red Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Egg distance will be halved
- Players of Team Mystic (Blue Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: You will get double candies from eggs
This bonus is additionally given: If you manage to master all the challenges, Raikou will get a special raid day where you can also find it as a Shiny.
When will the bonuses be available? All bonuses from this challenge will be active from June 18 to June 25. When the Raikou day starts is still unknown.
GO Fest in Dortmund
When does the event run? This event runs from July 3 to July 7. Meanwhile, the Dortmund GO Fest is taking place. The following goals must be achieved:
- Players at the GO Fest must complete 1 million field research tasks
- Reward: Triple XP when catching Pokémon
- Players of Team Instinct (Yellow Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Lucky Eggs last for one hour
- Players of Team Valor (Red Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Eggs yield triple the XP
- Players of Team Mystic (Blue Team) must complete 15 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Raids yield double the XP
This bonus is additionally given: If you clear all challenges, Entei will get a special raid day where you can also find it as a Shiny.
When will the bonuses be available? All bonuses from this challenge will be active from July 8 to July 16. The Entei day will take place on July 14 at an unknown time.
GO Fest in Yokohama
When does the event run? This event runs from August 5 to August 11. Meanwhile, the GO Fest in Yokohama is taking place.
- Players at the GO Fest must complete 2 million field research tasks
- Reward: Triple Stardust when catching Pokémon
- Players of Team Instinct (Yellow Team) must complete 25 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: 3000 Stardust guaranteed in each raid
- Players of Team Valor (Red Team) must complete 25 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Eggs yield triple the Stardust
- Players of Team Mystic (Blue Team) must complete 25 million field research tasks globally
- Reward: Star Pieces last for one hour
This bonus is additionally given: If you manage to master all challenges, Suicune will get a special raid day where you can also find it as a Shiny.
When will the bonuses be available? All bonuses from this challenge will be active from August 13 to August 20. The Suicune day will take place on August 17 at an unknown time.
