In Pokémon GO, the event Catch Wonder begins. This can bring you a lot of XP and Stardust if you do it right. And: the Master Ball too.
When does Catch Wonder start in Pokémon GO? The next May event starts on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
The end is on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
You have six days to take advantage of the event bonuses. And you should do this and plan a little, because there is a really good opportunity to collect XP and Stardust.
Use the first throw of the day – every day
You need to keep in mind: The focus of the event is on the first actions you take each day in Pokémon GO.
For the first Pokémon caught of the day, you will receive:
- the tenfold XP
- and five times the Stardust
This bonus can be extremely worthwhile if you make a really strong throw – specifically, a “fantastic” throw. Because that already brings in 1,000 XP if the catch is successful. With tenfold XP, that should result in 10,000 XP, with a Lucky Egg even 20,000. So make an effort when making your first catch of the day to turn it into a fantastic throw as much as possible.
However: The first catch of the day already gives you 1,500 XP, and additional bonuses are available for factors like the Curveball. That should also be multiplied by ten. So don’t miss catching at least one Pokémon every day this week.
Plan your 7-day streak: If you manage to complete your 7-day streak during the event, you will also receive a bonus of 2,500 XP for the throw.
The whole thing theoretically times ten. And if you have a Lucky Egg active, that should also double it.
Theoretically, you should be able to earn an extreme amount of XP from the first throw of the day if the 7-day streak succeeds during the event.
By the way, the Stardust looks similar; it also gets a bonus of 3,000 Stardust for the first catch on the seventh day in a row – which should also be multiplied by five thanks to the event.
So the bonus should be worthwhile. Because even in events with four times XP or Stardust, players have already been able to record crazy numbers for individual throws.
By the way: the first spun PokéStop of the day also gives tenfold XP during the event.
Also: New Master Ball in Pokémon GO
In addition to the bonuses, a new Masterwork research will be introduced, which has no time limit. That’s good, as they always take a long time and are quite difficult. However, the reward is worth it: A new Master Ball can be obtained. And it catches every Pokémon. Which monsters are worth using the Master Ball on, you can read here.
