From today, July 22, 2022, you can again earn a Hyper Bonus for the next event in Pokémon GO and solve a global challenge. We at MeinMMO will show you what you need to do for it and reveal whether it is worth it.
What tasks are involved? The live events will continue this weekend with the start of the GO Fest in Seattle. Thus, a new Hyper Bonus can also be earned again.
Unlike in previous years, there is no standalone Hyper Bonus event this year, but you can earn it piece by piece through various events surrounding the GO Fest and enhance subsequent events.
For that, Niantic will unlock a global challenge for the entire weekend, which you are to solve together with all other trainers in the game, irrespective of your participation in the GO Fest in Seattle.
This is the global challenge for the GO Fest in Seattle
What is the global challenge? In global challenges, you must complete the goal set by Niantic together with all other trainers worldwide before the event period ends. If you manage to solve it before time runs out, you will earn not only the Hyper Bonus but also an additional bonus for the remaining time.
What goal do you need to achieve? Together with others trainers from Pokémon GO, you must complete a certain number of raids. The exact number has not yet been disclosed. As soon as we get this information, we will add it to the article accordingly.
In the raids, be sure to use optimal counters and movesets. We will show you the best attackers of each type in the following video:
How long do you have for this? The global challenge runs parallel to the GO Fest in Seattle. It starts on July 22, 2022, at 6:00 PM German time and ends on July 25, 2022, at 4:00 AM German time.
What bonuses are there? If you succeed in the global challenge, you’ll unlock several bonuses. You can look forward to the following:
- double XP for won raid battles (for the remaining event time of the global challenge)
- Hyper Bonuses for the Hisui event from July 27 to August 2
- Raid Day on July 31, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time
Is the global challenge worth it?
Hyper Bonuses from past events: During the big GO Fest at the beginning of June and the GO Fest in Berlin, you were able to earn various Hyper Bonuses for the subsequent event, which were particularly worthwhile for some players due to mini-events and possible Shinies.
The Hyper Bonus during Adventure Week included a mini-event in the form of a research day, where you could encounter shiny Slugma and Dratini in field research, as well as Amarino and Balgoras in the wild.
And even during the anniversary event, you were treated to a special battle weekend and a limited-time research, where you could encounter Wash Rotom and battle against Shiny E in raids. With a bit of luck, you also encountered a shiny Grumpig in the wild.
What bonus could come? In the last two Hyper Bonuses, the title images for the respective events provided first hints about which bonus might come next. The title image for the Hisui event highlights the new Hisui Pokémon, especially the 7km eggs.
As there has been no reduced hatch distance announced for the event yet, it could indicate an egg bonus. This would be quite beneficial for trainers since according to current information, only Hisui Baldorfish is expected to be found in the wild among the new monsters.
Hisui Sniebel and Hisui Fukano will only be available in the 7km eggs. So, if you want to secure all forms, hatching is a must. What other bonuses you can really expect besides the already announced Raid Day remains to be seen.
Are there additional global bonuses during the GO Fest in Seattle?
As with the GO Fest in Berlin, you can also look forward to a collector’s challenge during the event weekend in Seattle, where various Pokémon announced for the GO Fest in Seattle will spawn worldwide.
According to current information, the following specimens will be included:
- Slugma
- Krabby
- Staryu
- Baldorfish
- Wingull
- Shroomish
You will therefore also need to catch these to solve the collector’s challenge. You can find all the contents and rewards for the global collector’s challenge here.
How long do you have for that? The collector’s challenge will be available to you from July 22, 2022, at 8:00 AM local time until July 24, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time. Don’t forget to redeem your reward in time because after the time expires, it will no longer be accessible.
