In Pokémon GO the “Friendship Challenge” for GO Fest 2020 is now live. We will show you all tasks and rewards as well as tips here.
What is new? Today, on July 17, Pokémon GO launched a new challenge for all trainers. You need to prove that you have learned a lot about “Friendship” in the game.
The challenge runs over three chapters with three quests each and several rewards. Afterwards, there will be a voluntary elite challenge waiting for you.
Here we show you all tasks and rewards that you will receive for completing the Friendship Challenge.
This challenge is part of the marathon for GO Fest 2020. If enough trainers of a team complete the tasks, special Pokémon will appear during GO Fest 2020. The following rewards are available for the Friendship Challenge:
- If one million trainers from Team Instinct complete the tasks, Togetic will appear at GO Fest 2020
- If one million trainers from Team Mystic complete the tasks, Dratini will appear at GO Fest 2020
- If one million trainers from Team Valor complete the tasks, Litwick will appear at GO Fest 2020
How long does the challenge run? This challenge is active from Friday, July 17 at 08:00 until Wednesday, July 22 at 22:00 and can be completed by you. At the same time, the big summer event in Pokémon GO started.

Stage Reward: For completing this step, you will receive: 300 XP, 300 Stardust, and an encounter with Alolan Raichu.
Friendship Challenge 3/3

Earn Hearts with Your Buddy: Your buddy Pokémon is the companion that is displayed on the screen next to your portrait.
To play with your buddy, click on the small image and then select the green “play” button at the top. With the AR technology, your buddy will now appear in your environment. Swipe up and down on the Pokémon with your finger until it is happy. This is how you play with your Pokémon and earn a heart at the same time.
By distributing snacks, you also earn hearts with your buddy. Again, click on the small image of your buddy next to your avatar portrait. Select the green “play” button again. Then you can click on “quick snack” at the bottom. Alternatively, you can use the AR camera again.
Keep throwing snacks to your buddy until the displayed bar fills up and you earn a heart.
Now you can also raid together with your friends in Pokémon GO. The raid invitations for friends are here and are being received positively by trainers.
