In Pokémon GO the research breakthroughs for July and August are known! In these months you will encounter 4 different legendary Pokémon.
Which Pokémon are available? After months Lugia and Ho-Oh are now disappearing from the research breakthroughs and making way for 2 new Pokémon. The list is completed by 2 well-known monsters:
- Latias
- Latios
- Kyogre
- Groudon
All 4 Pokémon will be randomly distributed to you. If you complete a field research on 7 days, one of the 4 monsters will await you on the last day.
Research Breakthroughs in July and August – Are they even worth it?
What can the Pokémon in the breakthrough do? The 4 Pokémon are already well known among players, as they have appeared several times in raids.
All 4 Pokémon can be shiny. So you might be lucky and encounter a shiny version in the breakthrough.
In terms of usability, Kyogre and Groudon have the upper hand. They are the best Pokémon of Water and Ground types. So if you don’t have the opportunity to challenge them currently in raids, the breakthrough offers a good chance to get them.
Latias and Latios are good Dragon Pokémon, but they look rather weak compared to the Dragon elite. Here, the shiny will be mainly interesting.
How long will these Pokémon be available? These breakthroughs are valid now for the whole summer. Until the end of August, you will find the 4 Pokémon there. On September 1 at 10 PM, there will be new Pokémon again.
If Niantic stays true to their line, they will only remove Latias and Latios; Kyogre and Groudon could remain a bit longer.
