In Pokémon GO you can currently complete a limited-time research to secure another Master Ball. A trainer has now gained an important insight about this. We have summarized what it is here on MeinMMO.

, Niantic introduced a new research format in Pokémon GO. Through a so-called Limited Research
you should be able to obtain rare items.
The current research, which you can complete until November 21, 2023, includes, among other things, a second Master Ball. The tasks are relatively extensive and time-consuming, so most trainers will take a while to complete them. However, one trainer finished the tasks in just a few hours and now shares an important insight.

What insight was gained? On Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM the new Limited Research Master Ball
started, which will stretch over the entire season. So there’s actually plenty of time to complete the tasks at a leisurely pace. However, a Japanese trainer obviously saw it differently and completed the research in just a few hours.
The content creator LeekDuck shared on Saturday via his X account (formerly Twitter) that the trainer lance918yuu completed all tasks of the research in a short time and thus also answered an important question from the community.
Although he already had a Master Ball in his item bag, he was still able to secure the second one. He shares a corresponding video of the Japanese player in which you can see the redemption of the research as well as the two Master Balls in the item bag:
Why is this so important? Normally, you can collect most items in Pokémon GO in larger quantities in your item bag. However, there has always been the indication from the developers about how rare the Master Ball is. After all, you secure a guaranteed catch with it.
For this reason, you could recently read on Niantic’s help page that you can only hold one Master Ball in your storage. This caused quite a stir on social networks, like in the Reddit post by mtdrunk247, as players had concerns that they would have to use their Master Ball mindlessly to get the next one.
This note has since been adjusted on Niantic’s page and the sentence Please note that you can only keep one Master Ball in your bag
has been removed. Therefore, it probably is not a mistake, and you can collect both Master Balls in your item bag.
Trainers amazed: Someone did this in 30 hours?!
Information brings relief: In the community, the realization that you can have two Master Balls brings relief to many players. Even though many trainers wished for an official statement from the developers, they are pleased with this information.
For instance, Reddit user iMiind wrote in the comments (via reddit.com): Thank you, someone finally took the work off Niantic to communicate this.
Community celebrates the trainer’s achievement: But the insight is not the only thing that excites the trainers. Many can hardly believe how quickly a player solved the extensive tasks of the limited research.
They find particularly impressive the 50 kilometers walked, 30 eggs hatched, as well as the 60 raids won, all of which the trainer lance918yuu must have completed in less than 2 days to finish the research.
