Have you reached the maximum capacity in Pokémon GO for monsters and items? Then a small update will help.
In Pokémon GO, there are now countless Pokémon in many different variants. This includes Galar and Hisui forms, Dynamax versions, and of course Shinys. If you want all Pokémon in all forms and also have battle teams for raids and the battle league, then many Pokémon can quickly accumulate.
It is quite fitting that the maximum capacities for Pokémon and items have now been increased again, as reported on Reddit.
More space for monsters and items
What is the new maximum capacity? You can now increase your Pokémon bag to a capacity of 8,800 with the latest increase. The new limit for items is 7,800. Both capacities have thus been increased by another 500 slots, as has been the case in the past.
When will the increase be available? Niantic has not yet released an official announcement, so a date for a global rollout is not known. In the comments on Reddit, there are trainers for whom this update is already active and others who are still waiting.
Is so much capacity needed? While most trainers will likely never need such high capacities, there are still trainers who will be happy about the update because they are constantly at the maximum capacity. Especially with regard to the upcoming Wild Area event at the end of next week, the timing for an increase in capacities seems well chosen.
How expensive is the maximum capacity? If you have not yet purchased any upgrades for your capacities and want to reach the maximum limit, you will need to plan some PokéCoins for this. An upgrade costs 200 PokéCoins each and gives you an increase in capacity of 50 slots.
- 170 upgrades for the Pokémon box for 34,000 coins
- 149 upgrades for the item box for 29,800 coins
Thus, you would need a total of 63,800 coins for this. If you collect the maximum number of free PokéCoins of 50 coins every day, you would need a total of 1,276 days for the upgrades – about 3.5 years.
If you were to buy the required coins, it would become quite an expensive undertaking. The largest coin pack in the game costs €119.99 and includes 14,500 coins. You would need this pack 5 times (and would still have a larger pile of coins left over), which would cost you a whopping €599.95.
If you wanted to buy as few coins as needed for this undertaking, you would still end up with a total of €534.93 and would have 50 coins left at the end. For this, you could purchase the following packages:
- 4x 14,500 coins
- 1x 5,200 coins
- 1x 550 coins
- 1x 100 coins
By the way: Without upgrades, you have a capacity of 300 Pokémon and 350 items.
How about you? What are your capacities in the game? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
