In Pokémon GO, there is now an important update for your storage space after a long time. We at MeinMMO show you how much space you now have and how the trainers are reacting to it.
What storage space is being referred to? Anyone who wants to catch a lot of monsters in Pokémon GO and does not want to constantly send them away should have enough storage space in their PokéBag. The same applies to collecting different items.
However, some players have already reached the maximum, and they have to diligently send away monsters and delete items. But this might now ease a bit, as the developers will significantly increase this space.
Niantic now lets you collect significantly more monsters & items
How much storage space do you have now? As Niantic announced through their Twitter account for Pokémon GO, you can now look forward to more storage space. In fact, you can enjoy a whopping 500 more slots each – these, however, cost PokéCoins.
After systematically adjusting the previous maximum of 6,300 slots for your Pokémon and 5,300 slots for your items in small steps over the past months, you can now expand this to up to 6,800 and 5,800 slots respectively.
How do you get the space? Anyone who wants to expand their storage for Pokémon or items can do so through the in-game shop. Scroll down far in this shop. Below the lure modules, you can find the expansions. 50 slots cost 200 PokéCoins each.
Trainers have long awaited the expansion
What do the trainers say about it? The trainers in the community are thrilled. Many had already reached the current maximum in recent months, especially with Pokémon. With the update, they can now expand and collect diligently again.
This is particularly interesting for the trainers who are, for example, collecting a Living Dex. They need a lot of space. In addition, there are various special Pokémon like Shinies, costumed Pokémon, or monsters of different sizes.

Trainers wish for further expansions: But the expansion of the Pokémon and item bags is not the only thing that trainers have wished for. Especially in view of the upcoming GO Fest and the associated live events, some would also like to see an increase in the friend limit.
SecretLeague1 writes (via twitter.com): What if the friend limit could be increased from 400 to 500? I would gladly pay extra for additional friend space, especially since GO Fest is just around the corner.
