In Pokémon GO all trainers can finally look forward to a new practical feature that should have actually existed in the game for a few weeks. We at MeinMMO show you what function it is and how players are reacting to it.
What feature is it? In December 2022, Niantic released a new feature for the item pouch as part of update 0.270.0 in Pokémon GO. This was meant to simplify sorting through a new view. However, not all trainers have been able to use the new function so far.
But Niantic has finally made improvements. We show you what the new function looks like and how trainers have reacted to it.
Niantic finally activates the new item feature for everyone
Is the function now active for everyone? Yes! While some players have been enjoying the new sorting in the past weeks, others still had to scroll endlessly in their item pouch to find the desired item. Now the function is finally available for all trainers.
Niantic announced via their Twitter account on the night of February 1st: “The item pouch has been updated for all trainers to allow switching between the current design and a more compact view in which items are categorized in groups. By tapping the list/grid icon at the top right of the item pouch screen, you can switch between the two views.”
And numerous trainers on social networks confirm that the new function is finally available to them. This is also the case for reddit user mtdrunk247 (via reddit.com): “I finally have the new item option, can others confirm this too?”
What has changed? Before the introduction of the new feature regarding the item view, trainers were presented with a long list in the item pouch without any filter functions. This was particularly annoying when looking for an item that was listed far down.
Now, this view can finally be changed by the trainers. Instead of the endless list, a grid view can now also be chosen. In this view, the items are grouped by their respective categories, making the pouch look more organized.
What does the new feature bring? The new function offers trainers a real “quality of life” improvement in the game. This not only affects the visual appearance of the item pouch but also allows trainers to find their items faster.
