In the Meowth Balloon, you will encounter Jessie and James. The villains from the console games and the anime now appear in Pokémon GO.
How to fight Jessie and James
How do you find Jessie and James? The grunts appear in your game via the Meowth Balloon. The encounter works similarly to the regular grunts. However, if you see the special balloon, then you will find Jessie and James.
How does the battle go? You encounter the balloon and click on it. Then Jessie and James will speak to you. In the first battle, you will face Jessie and her 3 Pokémon. After that, you can challenge James and his 3 Pokémon.
Which Pokémon do they use? The two grunts use the Pokémon that were also known from the anime and console games.
Jessie battles with a Ekans and James with a Koffing. Both Pokémon can also be encountered as Shiny in the encounter. Thus, there are now two more Crypto Shinies in the game. They follow the shiny Crypto Lapras, which has appeared as Shiny recently.
In our first attempt, the two grunts battled with:
- Jessie: Ekans, Scyther, and Swablu
- James: Koffing, Sneasel, and Beldum
Who are Jessie and James? Anyone who has watched the Pokémon anime knows these two villains well. They attacked Ash and his friends in almost every episode. Their goal was to capture Ash’s Pikachu.
