In Pokémon GO two new moves were found by dataminers. This includes a Fairy-type move that has been eagerly awaited.
What moves were found? In the new update 0.145.0, numerous new features were discovered. Among them were also two moves that might soon come to the game:
- Charm: A Fast Move of Fairy type
- Hyper Beam: A Charged Move of Normal type
Especially the Fairy move is generating excitement, as it is the first Fairy-type Fast Move that could make its way into the game.
What’s behind the new moves
What can Charm do? There is still not much to say about the power of the move. In the console games, Charm was a move that lowered the opponent’s attack and did not deal damage.
However, the fact is that Charm will be introduced as a Fast Move in the game. This is extremely important, as so far Fairy attackers have a major problem: Their stats and Charged Moves are strong, but they simply had no Fast Move of that type. Therefore, this type has been quite useless so far.
This could change with Charm. Which Pokémon can learn the move is still unknown. In the console games, at least none of the best Fairy attackers could learn it.
Where Charm might be used: Players are hoping for an upcoming Community Day with Trasla. There, Charm could be available as an exclusive move for Gardevoir.
What can Hyper Beam do? The move has a major issue: It is of Normal type. This type has no strengths or weaknesses, which means it can’t be effectively used anywhere.
Where Hyper Beam might be used: Hyper Beam could also be an exclusive move for Community Day. It would indeed be conceivable if the Normal Pokémon Slaking could learn this move.
So far, it was said that Slaking is supposed to learn Body Slam, but since the Community Day with Chikorita, we know that having 2 moves for such a day is also possible.
When will the two moves come? So far, they have only been found in the update. Niantic has not officially announced them yet. If they actually appear at the mentioned Community Days, it would be the case for Hyper Beam in 2 weeks.
Charm could then come at the earliest in August. Before that, with high probability, Treecko is expected to be the Community Day in July.
