What kind of event is this? After Niantic has celebrated the GO Fest particularly extensively this year, with a global event weekend in June and already 3 live events, the closing event is meant to be the grand finale. Of course, there will be plenty of spawns and bonuses for you on this occasion.
When does the GO Fest finale start? The closing event starts on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time. The finale will run for a total of 8 hours, ending at 6:00 PM local time.

We will keep you informed about all current habitats, spawns, raid bosses, and special research. Additionally, we will summarize all important news, events, and promo codes (if there are any) in this post.

06:00 PM: The big GO Fest finale has now unfortunately come to an end. If you can’t get enough of catching, you should stay in the game. Right after this, a mini-event will take place. What it’s about, you can read in our following post:
05:55 PM: Today there were plenty of shinies, even for trainers who played without a ticket. What is your conclusion about the shiny haul? Vote in our following poll:
05:50 PM: Tip: Trainers who are still hoping for one or another strong specimen from the raids can still be invited by friends from abroad for these raids in the coming hours and thus participate in remote raids.
05:40 PM: Those who could not complete the special research for “Willow’s Return” and “A Radiant Reunion”, can now breathe a sigh of relief, because Niantic has announced in the Pokémon GO blog that these researches only need to be accessed. You now have unlimited time to solve them (via pokemongolive.com).
If you haven’t secured the research yet, you should definitely do that before time runs out!
05:30 PM: The big GO Fest finale is slowly coming to an end, so you should make optimal use of the last minutes. After the event, you can still benefit from the current bonuses. Therefore, especially ticket holders should definitely do the following before time runs out:
- Complete the collector challenge for the habitat “Ultra Invasion: Anego”.
- Put your eggs in incubators so they can hatch with reduced distance after the event.
- Take snapshots, because this will grant you an encounter with a costumed Pikachu, which might shine with a bit of luck. Ticket holders have 5 chances for this.
- If you haven’t used all your free raid passes, check if you’ve secured one for later or for tomorrow. If not, spin the photo disc of a gym.
- If you want to continue catching Pokémon with incense after the event, you should set it now, as it will also work for 2 hours.
- If you are still out and have some PokéStops and/or gyms nearby, spin their photo discs. This way, you will secure some experience points through the XP bonus in the last minutes. You might also spin out one or another cool field research before it changes again.
05:20 PM: In the remaining 40 minutes, you should once again keep a close eye out for the new shinies of the day. You may be lucky enough to encounter a shiny Pikachu with Shaymin scarf as well as Shiny-Somniam. Ticket holders can also meet shiny Icognito N and Icognito X through their incense for the first time.
05:10 PM: Ticket holders can also secure the mysterious Pokémon Shaymin in its Sky Form in the last part of the special research. Furthermore, anyone who already has a specimen from the past GO Fest events can also change its form since today.
You can easily switch between the Land and Sky forms. However, this comes at a cost of 10,000 Stardust and 25 Shaymin Candy.
05:00 PM: The last hour of the closing event has now begun. If you haven’t completed the collector challenge for the current habitat yet, make use of the remaining time to catch the missing monsters.
04:50 PM: If your Pokémon storage or item bag is getting tight, you can now increase it to up to 6,150 for Pokémon and 5,150 for items.
04:40 PM: Even during the habitat “Ultra Invasion: Anego”, you can encounter new content in 7-km eggs again. Until the end of the event, the following monsters will be expected:

04:35 PM: Be particularly on the lookout for Somniam during this habitat. The Psychic Pokémon is available for the first time in its shiny form in the game. You can recognize it by its yellow body and the green flower.
04:25 PM: As with the other habitats, you can also secure various rewards in the field research tasks at Ultra Invasion: Anego. The following rewards await you until 6:00 PM:

04:17 PM: Particularly fast trainers can now also solve the last two panels of the special research “A Radiant Reunion” and thus complete the research series. However, if you haven’t gotten this far yet, there’s no need to panic, as Niantic has stated that this research can be solved without a time limit, thus also beyond the event.

Raids are worthwhile today, as ticket holders receive up to 9 free raid passes as well as additional XP when raiding on-site.

01:00 PM: The first hour of the Ultra Invasion: Masskito is over. You now have only one hour left to complete the collector challenge by catching Machollo, Kleinstein, Magmar, Camaub, Nockchan, Kicklee, Koknodon, and Rotomurf.

12:45 PM: Moreover, this habitat is the perfect opportunity to secure yourself a Milza. The Dragon Pokémon is currently spawning in the wild and can also be found in its shiny form with a bit of luck.

09:00 AM: Good morning, dear trainers! In one hour, the big closing event for GO Fest 2022 will finally begin. This is your chance to make the last preparations. So check if you have enough space in your Poké Bag and enough items for catching.
What you should know before the closing event
To make the most of the GO Fest finale, we have summarized the most important information about the event below.
Can you play only with a ticket? No, the closing event can basically be used by all trainers. However, the contents differ. Those who play with a ticket can benefit from additional spawns and bonuses. But there will also be plenty of content for trainers who do not wish to purchase a ticket.
Here we explain what advantages an event ticket for the GO Fest finale brings you.
Where can you get a ticket? Especially trainers who purchased an event ticket for the global GO Fest in June can breathe a sigh of relief, as the ticket contents for the closing event are already included in that ticket. You do not have to buy a new ticket.
For everyone else, the ticket is available in the in-game shop under the category “Worldwide Events” for about 11 Euros, depending on which provider you use.
You can also have tickets gifted from friends or give some away yourself. To do this, you only need to achieve Super Friend status. If you also have a valid ticket for the finale, the ticket for your friend only costs you 5.49 Euros. However, this discounted gift is limited to a maximum of 3 tickets.
Do all monsters spawn at the same time? No, as you already know from other larger events in Pokémon GO, there are again 4 different habitats for the GO Fest finale in which various spawns will be found. In the following overview, we show you when which habitat runs:
- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Ultra Invasion: Schabelle
- 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM: Ultra Invasion: Masskito
- 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Ultra Invasion: Voltirant
- 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM: Ultra Invasion: Anego
