What event is it about? One of the biggest events in Pokémon GO is the annual GO Fest. In addition to three special live events taking place this year in London, Osaka, and New York, a two-day global event will be the grand finale. This way, trainers from all over the world can participate in this event and secure special encounters.
The new monsters and Shinies waiting for you at the global GO Fest 2023 have been announced by Niantic. We have summarized all the content for you below.
When does the event take place? The global GO Fest runs on August 26 and 27, 2023. Anyone can participate in this, regardless of where they are in the world.
All new Pokémon & Shinies for GO Fest 2023
The biggest Pokémon GO event of the year also has a number of new Pokémon and Shinies in store for you. If you have not previously participated in one of the live events, you will have the chance to encounter two new gem Pokémon for the first time. Below we show you which they are and which new Shinies there will be.
Rocara: During the global GO Fest, you will have the opportunity to encounter the Rock and Fairy Pokémon Rocara worldwide for the first time. It comes from the 6th generation of games and is also referred to as a gem Pokémon.
You can recognize Rocara by its gray rocky body, from which a small head with long ears peeks out. It wears a white scarf around its neck. Its eyes are blue, and it is adorned all over its body with white crystals. The monster does not have an evolution.
During the GO Fest, you can encounter it in special field research. If you cannot wait until then, you can secure a corresponding ticket for the GO Fest until July 5, which will reward you with a limited-time research that includes Rocara.
Diancie: The mysterious Rock and Fairy Pokémon from the 6th generation has been suspected for some time as a candidate for the GO Fest. Now it’s official: You can secure the gem Pokémon worldwide for the first time during the global GO Fest with the help of special research. However, this is only available to ticket holders.
According to legend, Diancie is a mutation of the Rocara monster, which will also celebrate its debut at the GO Fest. The body of the mysterious Pokémon is small and gray. The lower part of the Pokémon resembles a rock, from which a pink crystal protrudes. It also wears a white dress and a crown made of pink crystals.
In addition to its normal form, Diancie also has a Mega Evolution. Whether this will also be part of the GO Fest is not known yet. How strong it will be, you can read in the following article:
Icognito M: Icognito is a Psychic Pokémon from the 2nd generation that has a total of 28 different forms, all of which resemble letters as well as the two special characters, the exclamation mark and the question mark.
Although Icognito is not a completely new Pokémon, you will have the chance to encounter its shiny letter form M during the global GO Fest for the first time. The shiny form will be released at the event. However, it will only spawn for ticket holders.
GO Fest brings you 10 new Shinys
In addition to Rocara and Diancie, you can look forward to a few new shiny Pokémon at the global GO Fest. You can look forward to the following Pokémon and their evolutions:
- Viscora with Viscargot and Viscogon
- Schalellos eastern hemisphere (blue) with Gastrodon
- Schalellos western hemisphere (pink) with Gastrodon
- Wattzapf with Voltula
- Kommandutan
- Icognito M (only for ticket holders)
You can encounter the new shinies in the various habitats that will be available during the event.
All habitats and spawns for the global GO Fest 2023
As you may already know from past larger events in Pokémon GO, the wild spawns do not all appear simultaneously on the first event day, but have previously been divided into 4 different habitats, in which they spawn alternately. The habitats change every hour.
On Sunday, the second event day, all wild spawns will reappear, but then independently of their habitats. If you purchased a corresponding event ticket, you can also look forward to special encounters from the smoke. The following monsters are among those expected:
