It starts on Saturday, August 26, 2023, and runs until Sunday evening, August 27. This event brings various bonuses.

Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Overview
When does it start? The global event starts on Saturday, August 26, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until Sunday, August 27, at 8:00 PM local time.
How much does it cost? You can buy a ticket for the event, which costs 14.99 euros.
Do you have to buy a ticket? No. There are many contents that you can participate in without a ticket. However, with a ticket, you will get more content.
What do you get for the ticket? The exact details are not yet all known. It is certain that there will be access to two special researches – one per day – where you can encounter the mysterious Pokémon Diancie. Additionally, the following content is planned:
- exclusive spawns from incense
- increased shiny chance
- special contents in the 7 km eggs
- up to 6 special trades per day
- 9 additional raid passes when spinning gyms
- collector challenges for the habitats
- global challenge to earn additional bonuses
Additionally, there are two additional timed researches that ticket pre-orders will receive:
- The first one you will receive if you buy the ticket before August 1 and play actively between July 15 and August 1.
- The second one is available if you bought the ticket even before July 5.

Which Pokémon will be there?
During such an event, you can usually look forward to new Pokémon and shinies. They usually appear at the live events and then celebrate their worldwide debut at the global event. The majority of them are then available to all trainers, regardless of ticket purchase. The following highlights have been confirmed so far:
Diancie: In Reddit, trainers have speculated for some time about which new Pokémon could come with the GO Fest. They identified the mysterious Pokémon Diancie from the sixth generation with the types Rock and Fairy. They determine this based on the pink crystals in the logo.
It has now been officially confirmed: As part of the special research, the gem Pokémon can indeed be caught by ticket holders at the global GO Fest. However, it will also be available at the live events beforehand.
Additionally, you have the chance to secure Mega-Diancie for the first time. However, this is only possible for ticket holders. How you can get the mega energy, we explain here.
Rocara: Rocara will also be available, another Pokémon from the sixth generation with the types Rock and Fairy. Some trainers had already speculated about this based on the blue parts of the logo.
Mega-Rayquaza and Proto-Pokémon: One of the biggest highlights is the debut of Mega-Rayquaza as well as the return of the proto-Pokémon. The powerful mega evolution will be found in mega raids for the first time worldwide on the second event day. To develop it yourself, you need a special item: meteorites.
On Saturday, Proto-Kyogre and Proto-Groudon will dominate the raids as well. This is an optimal opportunity to secure proto energy. But that’s not all. Which cool raid bosses you can challenge, you can see here.

3 Live Events Kicked Off GO Fest
What’s the deal with the live events? Even before the global event, there were three live events held at different locations:
- London: August 4, 5, and 6
- Osaka (Japan): August 4, 5, and 6
- New York: August 18, 19, and 20
What bonuses did the live events bring? All three live events featured exclusive game content and bonuses, including:
- Up to 18 raid passes per day
- 5,000 additional XP per raid
- 6 additional candies for catching Pokémon in 5-star and mega raids
- 25% less distance to hatch eggs
- 3x candies when hatching
- 3x catch XP
- 3x stardust
Which Pokémon can you expect at the live events?
Note: The live events have already taken place. For reference, the following paragraph regarding the content at those events remains in this article:
During the live events, there will also again be various new monsters and shinies. A special highlight at all three events is the debut of Diancie. Additionally, Aerodactyl will be available with a bag, and the regional Pokémon Symvolara, which otherwise only exists in Greece and Egypt, will also appear at the live events.
Similar to the global event, most monsters will appear in specific habitats. Depending on which live event you attend, this may vary accordingly. We have summarized which monsters you can look forward to where:
London & Osaka: In London and Osaka, you can look forward to the debut of Diancie, Aerodactyl with a bag, as well as an encounter with Symvolara, and three new shinies: Lilminip, Icognito !, and Araqua. Together with other Pokémon, you can find these with a bit of luck in the following habitats:
