Trainers report that the Party Play feature in Pokémon GO has been adjusted. And without any corresponding notices.
What is this feature? The Party Play feature allows you to form a group with your friends for a limited time in Pokémon GO and play together with them. You can create groups of 2 – 4 players.

On Reddit, several trainers are now reporting that they have noticed a small but very useful change. There is also information about this on a page from Niantic.
Party Play gets a change that makes the feature more usable
What change is it about? Previously, the maximum time for a group in Party Play mode was limited to a duration of one hour. Now multiple trainers report that they have used the feature and noticed that the duration has been extended to 3 hours.
This change allows you to spend more time with your friends in a group without having to recreate the group. This can save you especially some hassle when you are in the middle of a raid or have to wait to start a raid until you have regrouped.
What does Niantic say about it? Niantic has not communicated the change in duration so far. There is no indication of it either in the game or on the pages and channels of Niantic. Only in the Pokémon GO Help Center by Niantic can a hint be found. It states:
Your party can last up to 3 hours or until you end your Party Play session. You will receive a 10-minute warning when you approach the time limit.
The corresponding page in the Help Center was updated 3 days ago, on April 19, 2024. From that point on, the first hints from trainers can also be found.
What does the community say about it? In contrast to the negative feedback regarding the avatar update that was recently released in Pokémon GO, the feedback on this change is very positive. Some of the comments include:
