In Pokémon GO you can currently catch Fatalitee. The Ghost Pokémon has a special feature.
Things are getting spooky in Pokémon GO: Currently, the first part of the Halloween event is running, which not only brought the Pokémon Mortcha and Fatalitcha into the game, but also focuses on the already available Pokémon Fatalitee.
Fatalitee is now available to catch as a shiny Pokémon for the first time – and in the wild too. You don’t necessarily have to challenge Fatalitee in raids. However, it is rarer in the wild. Perhaps use the Pokédex alarm to make it easier to find.
Speaking of rare: Fatalitee also has a special feature you should definitely check: It has two forms that are hardly distinguishable.
Fatalitee as a Duplicate Form and Original Form – How to Tell the Difference?
What is the difference? In terms of values, combat power, and other aspects, the Duplicate Form and Original Form of Fatalitee do not differ at all. The biggest difference is a stamp on the underside of Fatalitee that certifies it as an original. Also, evolving the original costs much more candy.
The problem: The Duplicate Form is significantly more common than the Original Form. The Original is extremely rare.
How do I tell the difference? Not during the catch, because Fatalitee obviously does not show the stamp just like that. Instead, you need to have the Pokémon evaluated by your team leaders after catching it. During the evaluation, Candela, Blanche, or Spark will inform you whether it is an original or a fake.
You should check every Fatalitee you catch right after. Otherwise, you might end up sending one of the super rare original forms to the professor and never see it again. But: Be prepared to hear the phrase “To me, it looks like a Fatalitee (Duplicate Form)” very often.
Also, don’t be fooled by the silhouette in the Pokémon radar: As of now, Fatalitee is also shown as an unknown silhouette when it is the Duplicate Form – even if you already have it. This is no indication that an original is present.
Have you already managed to catch a Fatalitee in its original form? Did you know the differences? Let us know in the comments! And in the coming weeks, there will be some interesting Pokémon to catch again: A lot of dates are scheduled for next month. Here are all events in November 2025 for Pokémon GO.
