The trainers of Pokémon GO cannot find Farbottle in the game. Why can’t you catch this Pokémon?
Niantic recently released over 80 new Pokémon from the 2nd generation of the game series. Since the release, trainers have already caught many of the new Pokémon and added them to their virtual monster collection. On social networks, they shared encounters with Hoot-Hoot, Kramurx, and other Pokémon from the Johto region. One special Pokémon has still not been found for good reasons: Where is Farbottle hiding?
Catch Farbottle – The Ditto of the second generation?
While only the first generation was active in Pokémon GO, fans waited a long time for the first appearance of Ditto. The transforming Pokémon was later activated in the game and can take on the forms of other Pokémon when you encounter it in the wild. Farbottle does not mimic the appearance but the moves of opponents. Its ability “Mimic” permanently copies the last attack used by the target. Trainers have not yet been able to find it in the game because according to PokemonGOHub it is not yet available in Pokémon GO.
Will Smeargle come with the event into the game?
Upon closer inspection of the GAME_MASTER file, Pokémon GO Hub experts noticed that Farbottle’s moves have not yet been integrated into the game, and therefore the Pokémon is not available yet. The same lines in the code that Ditto had for months are used as placeholders.
Because there are so many similarities with Ditto, experts assume that Farbottle will also be activated through a “discovery” of the professor in the game. In the anime series, wild Farbottle paint the city “Whitestone” and also some residents in the colors Red, Yellow, and Blue.
We may see Farbottle for the first time in the game when they change the team colors of taken gyms. Color-wise, that would fit well together.
