In Pokémon GO, the event “Fairy Dreams” starts tomorrow. What to expect, we summarize here.
When does “Fairy Dreams” start? The event begins on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM and runs until Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
What kind of event is this? The new event is all about various fairy Pokémon that you can catch. Additionally, the following content is planned:
- Wommel celebrates its shiny debut and can be caught with luck
- Double Stardust when catching
- Double Stardust when hatching eggs
- Mega Energy for Gardevoir and Altaria from certain field research
- Collector challenges that will bring you Rocara, XP, and Stardust
Additionally, there will be a paid limited research for 2.49 Euros, which will provide Pokémon encounters, two premium battle passes, XP, Stardust, and two star pieces.

New event reminds trainers of last year’s Dragon Fairy event
In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” about Pokémon GO, trainers are already discussing the announcement. Some criticize the planned contents as they don’t offer much new – apart from the shiny debut of Wommel.
Some trainers miss the debut of a new fairy Pokémon (via reddit) or a new mega evolution (via reddit), while others suggest that at least the Flabébé versions should have rotated (via reddit).
However, the discussion is primarily about a similar event from last year: “Sparkling Fantasy,” which appeared in January 2023 and was praised by many. Just like the current event, “Sparkling Fantasy” focused on fairy Pokémon – but together with dragon Pokémon.
It also featured the debut of Mega-Altaria. And while that event was seen as a strong start to the year, some trainers view this year’s fairy event as weaker (via reddit).
However, trainers also point out that some of the fairy monsters in the current event are quite useful and definitely worth a catch.
