In Pokémon GO, the Corona adjustments have been extended for another month. Trainers are happy about it, but they are demanding the bonuses as a permanent change.
What has been extended: Due to the Coronavirus, there were numerous adjustments in Pokémon GO so that trainers could play better from home.
These changes were supposed to end in April, but they were extended for another month until the end of May. Now there is news that the adjustments will be extended for another month, until the end of June.
Players rejoice but want a permanent change
What adjustments are there? Niantic has made more adjustments in the game since mid-March. These include:
- Incense lasts for an hour and is significantly more productive
- You can carry 20 gifts and open 30 gifts per day
- Eggs hatch twice as fast
- You don’t have to walk kilometers to participate in the PvP League
- Players in remote raids are as effective as normal raiders
- Significantly more Pokémon spawn in the wild
- The radius to spin PokéStops and Gyms has been doubled
This is how the news is received: Even in the last days, there was a lot of concern about the bonuses. It was repeatedly stated that the bonuses should be kept and there was hope that they would actually be extended.
Now the news about the extension is very well received. However, there are also many statements that the bonuses should be kept permanently. After all, players have gotten used to them for months.
Neurotic_Marauder says on reddit: “Double incense duration and effectiveness, no walking requirement for the PvP League, and normal damage for remote raids should be the norm and not a temporary feature.”
There are also various other posts making similar statements. Especially the improvement of the item Incense should be a permanent adjustment for many trainers.
Could the adjustments be permanent? So far, Niantic does not seem to have any intention to keep these bonuses permanently. However, the developers will certainly see the feedback from players and must consider whether they really want to upset many trainers and remove the bonuses at some point.
Especially the incense and the increased spawns of Pokémon will hit trainers hard when they are no longer there. It is therefore quite conceivable that Niantic will at least keep some of the bonuses.
Not only the Corona bonuses are interesting in June. Pokémon GO has also announced a new research breakthrough. We will tell you whether Snorlax is worth it in the breakthrough.
