Evolving Ursaring into Ursaluna – Here’s how
How does it work? You can only evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna during a full moon. There are exceptions when Niantic activates the evolution during certain events.
- To evolve Teddiursa into Ursaring, you need 50 Teddiursa candies
- To evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna, you need 100 Teddiursa candies, and the full moon must be active
- Check in the game if the full moon is in the sky
When is the next full moon date? You should mark the dates in the calendar when there is a full moon. In 2024, these are the following dates (via Augsburger-Allgemeine):

What you need to consider: You do not have to evolve your Ursaring at the exact time. Also, there were some minor issues during the last dates. It is advisable to check if your evolution works 2 days before and 2 days after the full moon dates.
In May, you can check for safety on May 21 and May 22 to see if the evolution works. Then on May 23 for the full moon date and for safety also on May 24 and 25.
