With this method, you can evolve your Eevee specifically into Espeon or Umbreon without using the nickname trick in Pokémon GO.
Espeon and Umbreon are newcomers from the 2nd generation in Pokémon GO. Since last week, the new evolutions of Eevee have been in the game and are popular monsters among trainers in their collection. To control the evolution of Eevee specifically into Espeon or Umbreon, you can give the Pokémon specific nicknames before its evolution. However, this method only works the first time.
With a new method, you can evolve Eevee as often as you want. We will show you how to do it.
Evolving Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon – without nicknames
There are two methods you can use to control the evolution of Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon.
- The nickname trick only works once and is no longer available after the first use.
- If you want to control further evolutions into Umbreon or Espeon after the nickname trick, you need to evolve your Eevee under certain conditions. This method can be applied multiple times.
You can evolve your Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon more often if the following conditions are met:
- The Eevee you want to evolve must have walked 10 km with you as your buddy Pokémon and earned 2 candies.
- During the evolution, the Eevee must still be your active buddy Pokémon.
- If you evolve the Eevee at night, it becomes an Umbreon.
- If you evolve the Eevee during the day, it becomes an Espeon.
Instructions for evolving Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon: Select the Eevee as your buddy Pokémon that is eligible for evolution, and walk ten kilometers with this Pokémon. It’s best not to switch your buddy Pokémon in between, but to keep the Eevee by your side.
After you’ve walked ten kilometers and earned two candies, you are one step closer to the evolution. Now select this buddy Pokémon in your Pokémon collection. If you click on “Evolve” during the day (before sunset), you will receive an Espeon. After sunset, if you click “Evolve”, your Eevee will become an Umbreon.
The advantage of this method is that it continues to work and is not limited to just once. In the video by ssvid333, you can follow the individual steps:
