Which monster is it about? The Bug Pokémon Burmy comes from the 4th generation of games and has various forms. You can find it with a trash cloak, plant cloak, or sand cloak. Additionally, it can evolve into Moterpel or Burmadame. What you need to consider to get the desired monster is summarized below.
Getting Moterpel and Burmadame – What you need to watch out for
These are the evolutions: Burmy is one of the Pokémon in the game that has several different evolutions. It can either evolve into the Bug and Flying Pokémon Moterpel or into Burmadame. Its type depends on which form of Burmy you evolve.
How to evolve Moterpel? To secure a Moterpel, you simply need to evolve one of your Burmy. The form does not matter, but it must be a male specimen. So be sure to pay attention to the gender.
This is how you get Burmadame: Since you need male Burmy for the evolution into Moterpel, female specimens are required for Burmadame. Unlike Moterpel, Burmadame, like Burmy, also has various forms that differ in appearance and type. You can obtain the following:
- Burmadame (plant cloak) is of the Bug and Plant type
- Burmadame (sand cloak) is a Bug and Ground Pokémon
- Burmadame (trash cloak) relies on the Bug and Steel types
Burmy, Moterpel & Burmadame – Appearance, Shiny, Location
This is what Burmy and its evolutions look like: Burmy is a type of black worm with a curled horn. Depending on the type it takes on, its remaining body is covered by green leaves, yellow sand, or red rags.
Its evolution Burmadame is, on the other hand, somewhat larger, but also has a black body and a prominent horn. In contrast to Burmy, its cloak is now firmly fused with the body, which is also adorned with leaves, sand, or rags. In all forms, it wears color-coordinated bands on its head.
Moterpel, on the other hand, visually resembles a butterfly. Here again, the black body can be found, but there is no longer any sign of the horn. Instead, two large, broad antennae in orange-white adorn its head. Additionally, it has two pairs of wings in yellow and orange.
Is there Shiny Burmy? Yes, with a bit of luck you can also encounter a shiny specimen. However, it differs only slightly from its original form. You can recognize it by its rather bluish horn and body. If you evolve it into Burmadame, you can also only recognize the Shiny by the bluish skin color of the bug. With Moterpel, it is different.
This one is clearly different due to a bright yellow pair of wings and the blue decorations from the normal form.
Where can you find Burmy? Burmy is a wild Pokémon. You can find and catch it in the wild with a bit of luck. Especially in rain or at special events, like the color festival, you can spot it there. Occasionally, it also appears in special field research. However, Burmadame and Moterpel cannot be caught in the game for now; you can only evolve them.
Is Burmy strong? No, Burmy and its evolutions are not particularly strong. They are therefore not suitable for use in raids and the GO battle league. Here, you should rather opt for one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. We show you a selection in the following video:
