The event around World Tourism Day in Pokémon GO is live. There are now 3 new field research tasks, changed spawns, and many bonuses.
What kind of event is this? Pokémon GO celebrates World Tourism Day for a week. Until October 1st, you can receive bonuses related to regional Pokémon.
The highlight is the introduction of Shiny Sengo and Vipitis. Although Vipitis does not actually exist here, you can catch the regional Pokémon in Germany through field research.
Field Research, Bonuses, and Spawns for the Event
Complete these quests: 3 new field research tasks have been added to the game for the event start. These are challenging, as you need international friends:
- Trade Pokémon over a distance of 10,000 km
- Reward: Encounter with a Vipitis (Sengo is available in other regions)
- Make a new friendship
- Reward: Encounter with a Nasgnet
- Send 25 gifts to friends
- Reward: Encounter with a Lapras
Especially the field research involving trading over a long distance is causing difficulties for many players. The traded Pokémon must come from Southeast Asia or Oceania to be more than 10,000 km away. Alternatively, parts of South America would also work.
This means you need trainers as friends who live as far away as possible. From them, you can receive Pokémon from 7 km eggs and then get the right monsters to trade.
Here the bonuses have been adjusted: Initially, Niantic announced that there would be double XP when spinning PokéStops. It has now been revealed that this only applies to PokéStops that have not been visited yet.
Otherwise, the bonuses are as expected. Here are:
- One quarter less cost when trading Pokémon
- Regional Pokémon from our region hatch from 5 km eggs
- Pantimimi has arrived in Pokémon GO
What about the spawns? There are no massive changes to spawns. Only Sengo can be found a bit more frequently in Germany. Other Pokémon are not affected by the event.
These Shinies are now available: 3 new Shinies have made their way into the game. Sengo is available for the first time in the wild. You can obtain Shiny Vipitis from field research, and Shiny Pantimimi can be found in 5 km eggs.
Especially Vipitis is extremely rare here. You can only catch it during the event period in Germany.
