Schligda in Pokémon GO is actually only available at the beach. However, if you are very lucky, it seems that you can also obtain it in other ways.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Schligda is a Water-type Pokémon of the 9th generation, and it somewhat resembles the classic Gen-1 Pokémon Digda.
Schligda is known for spending its life in the sand. It is known as the “Sea Eel” Pokémon and can further evolve into Schligdri. Read more about Schligda here.
Schligda in Pokémon GO: Schligda was introduced with the biome update in Pokémon GO, so it has been catchable in the game since the end of April 2024. The peculiarity is, however, that it can only be found at the beach – or at least in biomes that are marked as beaches. You can recognize them by the catch screen, which shows sand and water accordingly.
However, a trainer recently showed: With a lot of luck, it seems you can also obtain Schligda in other ways.
Daily spawn in Pokémon GO surprises with Schligda
A trainer discovered this: In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad”, trainers often share new insights about Pokémon GO. User “davebybab” did the same and wondered: Because a Schligda appeared to him away from the beach biome. It can be recognized by the steppe on the catch screen.
But how can this be? As the user explains, this Schligda was a “daily spawn.” These daily spawns were introduced during pandemic times so that all trainers can at least find one Pokémon guaranteed each day, no matter where they are.
The daily spawns can be recognized by the wide white circle that appears around them when you encounter them on the map. They always appear where you open Pokémon GO for the first time in a day. For most, this will probably be near their own home.
Schligda currently seems to be part of the spawn pool for daily spawns. Thus, you have the chance to encounter the Pokémon even if you are not at the beach. However, you cannot influence which Pokémon you get in the daily spawn. Accordingly, you can only rely on your luck to encounter Schligda – or go towards the beach if possible.
Now, Schligda has been available in Pokémon GO for just over two months, and hopefully, more new monsters will appear in Pokémon GO in the coming weeks. Participants of the local GO Fests can at least look forward to Necrozma and Marshadow, which will also be available for all in the summer. What other dates are coming up is shown in the event overview for Pokémon GO in June 2024.
