In April, there are still numerous events waiting for you in Pokémon GO. We will show you what you can look forward to this month.

But more events have been announced for this month. We will give you an overview of all the upcoming events of the month.

We have listed all the events announced so far below. It is possible that further events will be announced by Niantic for April. We will update this list.
Until the end of April – Field research with many Shinys
Since January, you will find the same field researches in Pokémon GO. These should run until the end of April and could then be replaced by new tasks for May.
For this month, we will still have field researches with many Shinys and a total of 8 Pokémon in research breakthrough.
04/13 – Community Day with Kindwurm
On this Saturday, April 13th, the Community Day in April will take place. It revolves around the dragon Pokémon Kindwurm.
Many bonuses and a new Shiny are waiting for you. Check out our big Community Day guide for Kindwurm so you are well prepared.
04/13 to 04/28 – Cleanup for Earth Day
On April 22nd, the worldwide Earth Day takes place. Niantic is participating on this day and will start worldwide clean-up efforts from April 13th.
If you collect trash together with your community, you can unlock a great event that will take place later in the month.
04/15 to 04/22 – Raid Week with Shiny Latios
From April 15th, you will have the chance to encounter Shiny Latios for a week and this legendary Pokémon will appear more frequently.
There will be an increase in legendary raids throughout the week. This was already the case in February with Latias.
04/15 to 05/22 – Photo Challenge for great prizes
On April 15th, the Photo Challenges in Pokémon GO will start. You will have to take creative AR pictures of your Pokémon in various challenges.
There are prizes to be won, including a dedicated PokéStop and a trip to a GO Fest.
04/16 to 04/23 – Egg Spectacle in Pokémon GO
There is also an event announced around Easter. There will be a week focused on hatching eggs.
A new Shiny will be introduced to the game and there will be special field researches around eggs.
04/18 to 04/22 – Shiny Pottrott comes thanks to Safari Zone
This weekend, the Safari Zone in Singapore will take place. This event in Asia also brings us an advantage, as Shiny Pottrott will be released worldwide.
When exactly this release will take place is still unknown. However, it is likely that it will be on April 20th. This is Saturday, and so far, the shinys of the Safari Zones have always been released.
04/29 – Giratina makes way for a new raid boss
This month, the Origin Form of Giratina dominates the arenas. However, starting on April 29th, this legendary Pokémon will disappear from the arenas.
What its successor will be is not yet clear. This is usually only announced shortly before.
04/29 to 05/02 – Ground Event in Pokémon GO runs
If you have been diligently cleaning up trash in April, the Ground Event will be unlocked. This will take place at the end of the month.
There, depending on how many people have picked up trash, various bonuses will be unlocked. For example, Groudon could return as a raid boss and temporarily replace Giratina.
Unknown date – Limited research in April
So far, there has been a limited research in every month this year. However, nothing has been announced for April yet. It is very likely that such an event will take place this month as well.
In March, these researches took place on the last weekend of the month. This may also be the case in April, likely around April 27th.
