In Pokémon GO the big Christmas event 2019 is now live! It brings 3 new Shinys, special spawns, and 5 new field research tasks. Additionally, Petznief and Botogel are now available in the wild. Here is the overview.
How long does the Christmas event run? It has been live since midnight and runs through the entire Christmas period. The event ends on January 1st at 11:59 PM.
In the event, you can catch 3 new Shinys and more Pokémon from the 5th generation are available.
Quests, Spawns, and Shinys in the Christmas event
What field research tasks are available? There are 5 new quests waiting for you, all of which can be solved quite well:
- Take 5 snapshots of Ice-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Petznief
- Catch 5 Ice-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Shnebedeck
- Catch 5 Botogel or Shnebedeck
- Reward: Encounter with a Pikachu with Beanie
- Catch 10 Ice-type Pokémon
- Reward: 1000 Stardust
- Hatch 7 eggs
- Reward: Encounter with a Lapras
What about the spawns? You can find a number of Ice-type Pokémon in the wild now. The list of spawns is not too long, but the quality is right:
- Botogel*
- Rossana
- Pikachu with Beanie*
- Sniebel*
- Shnebedeck*
- Schneppke*
- Seemops
- Quiekel*
- Damhirplex with Bell*
- Petznief
- Frigometri
Pokémon marked with a star can also appear as Shinys.
What new Shinys are there? There are 3 new Shinys waiting for you in the event. The event Pikachu with Beanie can be caught as a Shiny. Additionally, as announced, Shnebedck and Damhirplex can also be found as Shinys.
Some players have already hatched Shiny Pichu with Beanie. So it’s worth firing up the incubators again.
What new Pokémon are there? Petznief and Frigometri have already been spotted in the wild. The latter is available not only from Glacier Lures.
Sesokitz and Kronjuwild have not been sighted, however. It was suspected that they would appear now because they are visible on the new loading screen.
What bonuses are there? The list of bonuses is incredibly long. Additionally, specific bonuses change every 2 days. You can find the exact overview of all the unique features in the event here.
